Aiden slowly got his phone out of his pocket. He then slightly stepped behind Jason; using him as a shield to prevent Malcolm from seeing what he was doing.
"It's none of your business why we're here." Jason retorted, and Malcolm glared at him.
Aiden tried his very best to text Chloe without being seen, but Malcolm got suspicious. He looked behind Jason to see what he was doing.
"I know Lana didn't do this to herself." Jason said, trying to get Malcolm's attention, which worked.
"You don't know anything kid."
Get outta there now!
Send.
Aiden successfully sent the message.
"Stop making her do your dirty work for you." Jason continued.
"Watch your mouth." Malcolm interjected. "It'll get you into a lot of trouble."
Aiden then patted Jason on the shoulder. "Come on let's go." He then stepped forward, passing Malcolm as he walked away.
Jason glared at him before walking away as well. Malcolm then straightened his jacket, and entered the hospital. He approached the front desk as he became more suspicious. Jason and Aiden saw him talking to the woman who was presently there.
"Did you text her?"
"Yeah."
Chloe read the message and quickly reacted. Lana noticed the sudden change in her expression.
"What is it?"
"I--I have to go."
Lana nodded. "--OK."
She then headed towards the door and slightly opened it.
"Wait--"
Chloe looked back at her.
"Tell Jason that I'm sorry--I didn't mean to hurt him." she said with sad eyes, and Chloe nodded.
She then pushed her head out and scoped the area, but no one was in sight. As she got out, she took a few steps before making her way around the corner. She suddenly bumped into someone along the way.
"I'm sorry--" she apologized. She froze when she realized that it was Malcolm, and immediately, her heart rate skyrocketed.
Malcolm did not respond however, which made her more intimidated. She hurriedly walked around him as she made her way down the hall. Malcolm stopped in his track, and looked back at her, but she just kept walking. She made it into the waiting area, and then out the exit where she saw Aiden and Jason.
"I just saw him." She quickly said, with a crack in her voice.
"What?" Jason said with his eyes wide open.
"I just bumped into him on my way back."
"Did he see you leave Lana's room?" Aiden asked.
"--no, I don't think so."
"OK. We need to go."
They then immediately left the hospital.
🔪
Miley and Susan were busy in the kitchen preparing for dinner and setting the table.
"Oh I forgot, I haven't told your father about Joshua coming over." Susan muttered. She then wiped her hands in a cloth before racing over to her phone which was in the living room.
