"Did you know her?" Her mother asked from the couch.

"No--I've honestly never seen her before." She answered, sitting beside Susan. "--but I've only been to school for two days so--"

Susan nodded. "I understand dear."

Miley half-smiled. "I'm gonna go finish my assignment and then head to bed."

Susan nodded once more. "OK. Goodnight."

"Goodnight mom."

Miley got up and made her way to her room. She got into bed and positioned the laptop in front of her. She then checked her emails for any new messages. However, there was none. Thoughts were floating around in her mind but she decided on finishing her assignment before heading to bed.

"Brian! Come on! Hurry up!" Wren yelled from outside the bathroom.

Wren Long is Brian's older brother. He attends university, where he is pursuing a degree in Law. He is quite tall, with dark brown hair and brown eyes; similar to that of Brian's.

Brian opened the bathroom door. "Hey." He greeted with a grin.

Wren rolled his eyes. "Your school doesn't start for the next hour and a half. Why are you always up so early?"

Brian stepped out of the bathroom. "It's a habit. I thought you would have gotten used to it by now."

"Whatever." Wren brushed him off.

Brian walked away with said grin on his face. "Love you."

"Whatever." Wren replied once more, in a less serious tone before chuckling.

Brian has always been an early bird. He hardly had breakfast at home because of it. He would normally just stop by a fast food restaurant and have breakfast there before school.

Since being here, he has only gone to Rose Café. They made the best waffles and he adored them. He figured that school would be gloomy today because of the whole incident yesterday, so he wanted something to cheer him up. And with that in mind, he got ready and left.

As expected, the atmosphere at school was that of sadness. Some students who knew Lana Banks were taking the news harder than others.

Aiden had just arrived at school when he spotted Miley coming out of her car. He made his way over to her.

"Hey." He greeted her with a half smile.

"Hi." She replied, closing the car door before adjusting her bag on her shoulder.

"Heard what happened?" He asked her.

They started walking towards the school.

"Y-yeah. Brian told me--and I caught a part of it on the news. It's really--"

"--messed up?" Aiden finished, glancing at her.

"Yeah." She then looked at him. "Did you know her?"

He sighed. "Not personally--but we had couple classes together."

They then walked pass a group of two girls and a guy. One of the girls was crying and the other two were consoling her.

"It's really heartbreaking." Miley stated.

Aiden sighed once more. "Yeah."

He then remembered about Lana.

"Oh by the way, Lana--Rowe will be at school today. Jason heard from her last night."

"Yeah--I saw her yesterday at Rose Café."
