The next morning approached, and Miley was still fast asleep. It was about 7:30, and she had forgotten to set her alarm on her phone after what went on last night.

There was then a faint knock on her door.

"Em?" Her mother called out, but there was no reply.

She then opened the door to see Miley fast asleep in the chair. She went over to her and gently shook her whilst calling her name once more. She slowly opened her eyes.

"Good morning." Susan greeted with a smile.

Miley slowly straightened herself in the chair before responding. "Morning mom."

"Rough night?"

"Ah--" was her response before rubbing her eyes. "Not really. I was just tired I guess."

She then remembered the whole reason why she was around her laptop.

"I'll be downstairs in a bit." She stated, looking up at her mother, who then nodded in response.

"OK. Breakfast will be ready by then."

Miley nodded. Her mother then left. Miley got closer to her laptop and rubbed her finger on the mouse pad. When the screen came on, she looked at the messages from last night to see if there was any reply. Sadly, there was none, and she sighed while throwing herself back into the chair. She contemplated on whether or not to send another message, but later decided not to.

Was she still left with a bunch of questions in her head? Yes. But the only way she was going to find out if the emails were actually from Lana was to confront her, at school. And with that thought in mind, she got ready.

"You woke up late--" her father half-asked half-stated when he saw Miley coming down the stairs.

"I forgot to set my alarm."

He nodded, then took a sip of his coffee. Having coffee was like a morning routine for the Tibets. Speaking of coffee, the kitchen was filled with its scent, along with the scent of eggs, pancakes, and bacon that her mother has prepared.

Susan was still in the kitchen tidying up. But when she heard Miley enter, she stopped what she was doing to focus on her.

"You look lovely." Susan complimented.

"Thanks mom," she smiled gracefully.

Miley was wearing a pink, turtle-neck sweater and blue jeans, with her favorite pink converse.

"Are you ready for your official official official--" Jack stressed, making Miley laugh out. "--first day?"

"Yes, I'm ready," she replied, sitting around the dining table with her breakfast.

"That's the spirit!" He said excitedly. "Ah--I remember my first days of high schools."

"Plural?" Miley asked.

He nodded. "I was always moving from town to town. Your grandparents were a bunch of confused folks." He lightly chuckled. "But they managed to have finally settled in Rockbridge."

"And now we're in Redwood," Miley added.

"Now we're in Redwood," he repeated. "But my first days were not bad at all, and I have gotten to understand why your grandparents had to move around so much."

Miley nodded, whilst still eating.

"And a good thing came out of all of that--I met your mother."

"In Rockbridge?"

He nodded. "In high school even."

"What was mom like in high school?" she questioned.
