8:50 am // Grace's POV

I can't believe I've been at this school for nearly a week now. I arrived at my locker with a little note on the door. I assumed it was Ashton due to the fact that it was his handwriting. I call it the "Irwin Handwriting". This is what it said:

Meet me at the fountain, near the gym. I have something special to tell you xx

I kinda knew where the fountain was. If the table that we all hanged out was near the gym, then surely the fountain was near the gym. I walked to the fountain and find a cute, curly headed boy looking at the water coming out of the spout. Oh shit Grace, don't think like that, ok, you knew the guy for a week now but still, that doesn't mean that he likes you. I looked at my fingertips, wondering what he's going to say to me. Ok, here goes.

"Hey Miss America" He smirked.

"Hey Mr Australia" I smirked back.

"I see you got my note that I put on your locker door" Ashton assumed.

"Yeah I did, first thing first, I came straight to you" I smiled.

"Great, so do you know what we are talking about?" Ashton wondered.

"Nope, who the fuck knows" I sighed.

"Haha, well, a little innocent girl who I knew for 4 days has became a bad girl instead" Ashton joked.

"Shut up haha" I laughed.

"Alright, here goes" Ashton took a deep breath.

The poor kid, the more time he takes, the nervous I get. Come on Ashton, hurry the hell up.

"Well, since I thought we'll be friends for a long time, if lucky, I thought that we should have a motto" Ashton thought.

"A motto?" I spat out.

"Yeah a motto. No one knows except the people I know that I make up mottos. I have one or two for every friend I know, such as for Michael, sweat is fat crying and a sweat suit is used to stop the crying" Ashton explained.

"Haha alright" I giggled

"Oh god, you don't think it's a good idea don't you? Oh wow, I knew this would happen, Fucking hell Ashton, why didn't you think of this before, ughhh for hells sake, now she's getting pissed at m-"

"Omg! Ashton! Get your grip together, I think it's a good idea" I interrupted.

"You really think so?" He mumbled.

 "I know so" I smiled.

The bell went for the first lesson and Ashton and I were still here. I haven't got my books out or anything. When I was in America, I would have my books ready and organised. If lucky, I would be the first in the class. Oh hell, what would the teacher think.

"You know, we should probably should get going to the first lesson, the bell's already gone" I requested.

"Yeah true. we'll think of a motto during school?" Ashton asked.

"Sure, if I have any" I laughed.

 5 hours later:

It's finally lunchtime. Ashton and I have a couple of mottos that we could use for each other. such as "You can be the potato and I can be the chip" or "I can be the USB to the computer". It's pretty silly stuff, but mind you, they are really good mottos. Nicole came up to us and see if we would love to hang out with her and the boys. Ashton said we have French work to do, in other words: "Leave me alone Nicole, we don't fucking need your selfish little words you ratchet". Ashton and I both sat at a table opposite each other.

"I see you have a sandwich" I admitted.

"Yeah I do, is that so weird?" He questioned.

"Oh no no no, I just remembered from the conversation that we had yesterday" I laughed.

"Oh yeah, sorry about that, I was a little nervous" He confessed.

We shared our ideas, there were a few that were pretty good and a few that were pretty lame. Then suddenly, Ashton had a idea.

"I've got it" He spat out as I jumped a little.

"What?" I begged.

"You know how you're American and I'm Australian right?" He explained.

"Yeah" I wondered.

"How about 'I can be your American if you can be my Australian'" He hinted

"Awww that's so cute" I cooed.

"So what do you think, do you like it?" He asked.

"I love it" I commented.

"Yeah, so can we finalise and confirm the motto that I made up is our motto?" He asked.

"You sure can" I smiled

"Alright, it is now confirmed that 'I can be your American if you can be my Australian' is now our motto" He confessed.

"Woo! Haha" I laughed.

Ashton made a pretty good motto, if he's happy with it, then I happy with it too. There's no right or wrong about it. Hopefully we can keep this motto for life.

Hey guys! This was only a short chapter but it might be long in the next chapter. What do you think of the motto "I can be your American if you can be my Australian"? I found it quite cute, let me know in the comments below :)
