Chapter 10 - Phone Calls, etc

Sunday, 8th of February, 4:30 pm // Grace's POV:

Yesterday was a pretty good day. Studying with Ashton made me more smart than I have ever been. He has a crush on me now. He never told me why. I said that I have a crush on him too, I didn't ask him why. I had to use Google Translate to find out what it was. Why does Ashton have a crush on me anyway? Is it because there is no other girl that he could have a crush on? Or is it because I'm American? God know what his reason is. I heard my phone ring from my bedroom upstairs. I ran quickly to get it. I saw the caller ID, it was Nicole. I press the answer button. 

"Hey Nic" I cheerfully greeted.

"HEY GURL HEY!" Nicole shouted through the phone, making my earsdrums hurt.

"What's up?" I asked.

"Oh nothing much, I just wondered how you went with Ashton yesterday" She wondered. 

"Yeah good, we studyed, we had a snack and then we did more studying" I explained

"Cool, nothing more?" She resured.

"What do you mean by nothing more? Ashton has known me for a week?" I asked.

"Yeah, but you know boys, as soon as you know them more, they get more intense on you" She hinted. 

"You know, that just made it really confusing" I commented.

""Whatever Grace" She laughed.

"Ashton said in French that he had a crush on me" I remembered.

"AH HA! I knew there was something fishy going on there" She mumbled under her breath.

"What?" I said.

"Omg did he actual say that? Like in French?" She questioned. 

Yeah he was like 'j'ai le béguin pour toi'" I remembered.

"Wow, I didn't expect that from a daggy 16 year old boy, what did you say back?" She asked.

"I just said 'j'ai le béguin pour vous'" I remembered.

"Which is?" She asked.

"I have a crush on you too" I commented.

"She did not just say that" She mumbles under her breath.

"What?" I said.

"Awww that's really cute" She complimented. 

"Um thanks haha" I laughed a little.

"Gotta go, mum wants me to help with the table, BYEEEE! I ily you!" She shouted from the phone, making me eardrums hurt once again.

"Haha I ily you too, whatever that is, bye!" I laughed.

I hanged up. I wonder what she said under her breath, I hope it's nothing too overeacting. I forgot what she thought she said and went back downstairs.

Ashton's POV:

Yesterday was a pretty good day, Catching up with Grace to study might've been a good idea after all. I told Grace I had a crush on her in French. I had to use Google Translate to find out. I never told her why. Grace has now got a crush on me too. She said it in French. She didn't say why. Why does she have a crush on me? Is it because all the boys at school are really daggy and don't give a complete shit? Or is it because Grace's American and I'm Australian. I guess right now it's just unexplained. I heard the home phone ringing in the kitchen. I said that I'll get it. I answered the phone.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hey t's Calum" Calum greeted. 

"Hey mate, how it's going?" I asked.

"Yeah good, how about you?" Calum replied. 

"Yeah good thanks man" I replied.

"What happened with you yesterday? I haven't heard from you" He asked. 

"I studyed with Grace yesterday" I replied.

"Really? Did you tell her?" He asked.

"About what? I questioned. 

"You having a crush on Grace?" He hinted.

"Oh, yeah, I did and you know what?" I remembered.

"What?" He said.

"I said it in French" I cried.

"You can't possibly be serious?" He questioned. 

"I am serious" I commented.

"How did you find it out? He asked. 

"On Google Translate" I inquired.

"Oh right, what did she say back?" He asked.

"j'ai le béguin pour toi"  I said in French.

"And that is?" He questioned.

"I have a crush on you too" I explained.

"Ok, how did she find that out" He questioned. 

"On Google Translate" I inquired.

"Oh right, you know Ash, you might have one lucky girl just waiting for you" He commented.

"You really think so?" I asked. 

"I know so, you know the line from Finding Nemo 'Just Keep Swimming?'" He asked.

"Yeah?" I remembered

"Remember and follow that line, you never know what happens to you and Grace in the future" He ensured me.

"Cool, that might help me, thanks bro, you're the best" I commented.

"That's ok man, oops, I gotta go, dad wants me to help him with the TV" He said. 

"Ok, I'll see you at school tomorrow yeah?" I asked.

"You sure will, bye Ashton" He said.

"Bye Cal" I hung up the phone.

I think I might use that line from Finding Nemo. Besides it is my favourite movie, apart from The Persuit Of Happiness. God I love Dory. What? You got a problem, buddy? Huh? Do ya? Do ya? DO YA?
