A/N: I've made up the streets because I don't know any of the streets from Sydney, I have been to Sydney, but it was 8 years ago, so I don't really remember, but anyway, enjoy :)
12:05 // Grace's POV:
I woke up with mum tapping me on the shoulder next to me, I must have fallen asleep because now I was facing the window with my head on the window. Oh fuck, I must feel so embarrassed. We were all the only one on the plane so I got up immediately, got my stuff from up the top and got out of the plane. Wow, 9 hours on a plane, feels like ages.
I thought that we would be on shitty tarmac again, but we were in this secret tunnel. It was Alice In Wonderland if you can imagine it. As soon as we went down the secret tunnel, I noticed that Sydney Airport looks absolutely different than Louisiana's. There was Starbucks, a place called Hungry Jacks but used to be Burger King, Maccas, it's the similar things that we used to have in America. This is all strange to be here, something is fishy around here and I don't like it.
"Mum, are we like, in the right place, because I have a feeling that we aren't?" I jittery asked.
"Yes hun, we are here"
Everything felt all new to me, it's like seeing a new planet from out of space. I saw the car from a close distance, oh thank god it's finally safe. Dad was checking the map to see where our new house is and to know which direction we are going in (A/N: See what I did there ;)). You can tell when dad is a little confused, he'll scratch and turn his head, it's really funny, but hella cute at the same time, I love him to bits.
"Alright, right now, we are on Airport Drive and we need to go to number 5, Hutcherson Avenue, according to my calculations, that will take 15 minutes to drive over there" Dad said, enthusiastically.
Dad sounded pretty confident, but mum wasn't too concerned about this.
"Pete, are you sure we are going in the right direction?" Mum questioned.
"Yes darl, I am definitely sure, stop worrying too much, we are going to be ok" Dad calmed mum down.
I hate the feeling of jetlag, I just want to fall asleep again. It was really hard to try to fall asleep on the plane. The sound of young children crying, screaming and yelling, the sound old men snoring just absolutely killed my ears. Ugh I was so glad to get off the plane.
I missed the sound of our car while we were gone, I know, it's pretty stupid saying that you missed your car, but hey, it could have been in a serious condition. Brad and I settled down in the car. We were both so relieved that the plane ride was over. He probably thought the same reason as me, poor Brad, sitting next to dad with his huge, loud snoring. Poor mum too, she has to sleep next to him every night. No wonder she gets shitty during the morning. Hell, I would absolutely hate to sit next to dad
15 minutes later, we finally arrived at the new house. The house is 2 storeys high. It looks so big and modern. It's wasn't American style, it was "Australian style". I ran up to the door, trying to unlock the door but it was locked. Mum came with the key to the door. I unlocked the door. I looked inside and it was very spaceous. It was like there was nothing in there, we didn't have our appliances yet but I guess we could have survived. Thank god that our new mattresses have arrived. I could have died without it. No one could take us on a tour of the house because everyone is asleep. Fair enough, they need their sleep. Dad and mum said they were going to take us on a tour of the house tomorrow, we were all jetlag from that stupid plane ride
We all went upstairs to check out our new bedrooms. My room was really cool, heaps of space to put my stuff, new double bed, ensuite. I liked it. I sorted out my bed, put the linen, covers and quilts on. It was hella hard work, but it was worth it. I decided to go downstairs to say goodnight to mum and dad, no way was I saying goodnight to Brad that little shit.
"Mum, dad, is it ok if I go to bed now? I'm extremely jetlaged" I yawned.
"Yeah sure, everyone's extremely jetlaged, we all have a big day tomorrow and this week, look around Sydney, sort out the house, sort out Brad and your uniform for next week, it's going to be pretty tiring, but we'll manage" Dad encouraged me.
"Cool, thanks, love you guys night" I yawned again. hugging them and kissing them both on the cheek.
"Night, have a good sleep" They said in sync.
On the way to my bedroom, Brad bumped into me.
"Watch where you're going you fucking midget" Brad complained.
"Who you calling midget?" I fought back.
"Brad, Grace" Mum broke up the fight
"Yeah whatever" Brad and I both said in sync.
I went into my room, got changed into my pajamas, put my phone on charge, turn off the overhead light and hoped into bed, really didn't care about anything else. As soon as I turned off the overhead light, I went and crashed like a light. Man was I god damn tired.
