I indeed do know how to spell nineteen but hey, puns are cool. Also! The chapter before this and this one happened weeks after Jenna moved in with Tyler, probably should have mentioned the time jump. Also, there's some cute shit near the end.
Josh knew when he woke up that last night was no dream at all. In fact, he was happy it wasn't a dream, but he still couldn't wrap his head around it. After a moment of processing the situation, he realized that he was hugging something, confused for a moment he realized the something was someone. Then he got thinking, did he even go back home at all? All he remembered was feeling sleepy, and that the last thing he saw was the sleeping angel. He then realized they were cuddling once again and his face turned cherry at the thought of it. Tyler was rather warm and comforting, and he looked so cute when he slept.
Josh could stay like forever.
"Ya know, we find ourselves in this position too often..." he heard a tired voice say beside him. Josh jumped slightly at the sudden voice but smiled to realize who was talking.
"We only ever cuddled once before this you dork." Josh laughed, causing Tyler to shift under him to look at the giggling sunshine. The angel was still physically tired, his back was sore like it always is after letting his wings out.
After a while Josh went quiet to think.
"How are you feeling, Ty?" He asked worriedly. Realizing that he passed out from physical exhaustion.
"I feel weak as fuck if I'm being honest with you." He decided to sit up,wincing slightly at how sore he felt.
"Wait...how are you not freaking out?" He asked softly, remembering that Josh saw him with his wings.
"I'm still trying to put my head around it all but...why be scared? You're an angel, not a goblin or anything." He chuckled near the end to lighten the mood.
"Yeah I guess.... Though you weren't meant to see...that." He said, still disappointed at himself that he got caught.
"Well if it wasn't for me, no one would have been there when you fainted." Josh reminded.
"Plus, I was much more worried for you then the fact that I realized you were an angel." He added.
"You were worried?" Tyler asked, secretly surprised that anyone else cared for him.
"Of course I was! Why wouldn't I be? You're important to me Tyler. You were there for me when I went through a pretty shit night, you checked up on me, and you're a great person to be around." Josh laughed softly at the end.
"R-really?" The angel couldn't help but stutter, his cheeks were blushes a light pink.
"Yes really. No one wants to see their friends passed out suddenly." Both of them were lowkey hurt at the word friend but both failed to acknowledge it. Tyler lightly laughed at the thought of something.
"How on earth did we get so involved with each other?" Tyler wondered.
"We kept popping in for each other, when neither of us knew that the other needed it." He laughed.
"That's how you make friends, you always show up." They ended up laughing now. Neither of them were ready to confess what they were really feeling. Josh didn't want to say how cuddling Tyler made him safe and how his laugh gave him butterflies or how he was probably the sweetest guy he's met in a while.
And Tyler could never confess how Josh made him smile like no one ever could or how he was so adorable his heart could explode. Both were infatuated with each other, yet Tyler had Jenna and Josh was still healing.
"I never would have thought, ya know. You always were the dark and mysterious student." Josh spoke honestly.
"It was my way of protecting myself, plus I had a lot of pent up anger from being sent down here. Thankfully I'm a lot better now." The angel replied, causing Josh to look at him confusingly.
"Why angry?" He asked carefully Incase it was a touchy subject.
"Back where I lived, we were being ruled over someone who has corrupt ideas and used Earth as a punishment, hence why I'm here. At 14 I planned a protest and that's what got me here." He sighed, looking down at his lap.
"I-I wanted to make a difference but I doubt that I did really affected anything." Tyler added. Josh looked at him, he was surprised really. But at the time same, he couldn't help but admire his bravery.
"That's a really brave thing for you to do though. Especially at the age 14." He spoke up, hoping to cheer up the angel.
"I guess-"
"You guess?! Tyler Joseph that takes true bravery. You stood up for something that wasn't right in your society and probably gave hope to others like you. We need more people like you on Earth!" Josh exclaimed out of nowhere. Tyler just stared at him, even more shocked, and suddenly really emotional. For a few moments he sat there, eyes on the pink-haired boy, admiring his features.
"You really think so..?" He eventually spoke up quietly, eyes back on his lap, his hands fiddling with each other.
"I know so." Josh smiled, Tyler reflecting it back with a smile of his own.
"Joshua Dun, I'm really glad you water your flowers everyday, or else we wouldn't be here right now." It was Tyler's turn to be honest.
"Earth was a miserable place for me but you make it much more tolerable. Thank you." He added. Instead of replying, Josh tackled the angel with a hug, making them both fall back on the bed, Josh on top of Tyler. The angel groaned from the impact.
"Shit! I'm so sorry Tyler, I-I just- I.." Josh couldn't figure out what to say, his face red from embarrassment.
Normally Tyler would be pissed but he couldn't help but smile wider at how cute the flustered boy on top of him was. Instead, he returned the hug, rubbing his back softly to comfort him.
"It's fine, flower boy. I needed a hug anyways." He spoke softly. So the two remained there for a bit, both relaxing in each other's embrace.
