Even months after Jane broke it off with Thor, he was devastated.

He did less and less, stopped eating meals regularly, and slept longer than usual.

The other Avengers noticed his activities and mood drop, but no one seemed to know how to go about bringing his mood back up. Until, that is, you showed up.

An old friend from Asgard, you knew Thor while growing up. Odin asked you to bring Thor information about his home realm, as well as collect intel from the Avengers about Loki, as he was currently under arrest by SHIELD.

When you first arrived, the Avengers had no clue whether to treat you as a friendly or a hostile. Who can blame them? You show up in Asgardian armor, wielding a longbow and a broadsword, and the last unknown Aesir that decided to pop in destroyed half a city.

Thinking quickly, you surrendered your weapons and knelt to signify your peaceful arrival.

"If you came here without the intention of causing harm, why bring two weapons?" asked the Black Widow.

"Though the Bifrost rarely sends you to the wrong place, I find it is always better to be prepared."

"Where would you end up?" added the Man of Iron.

"Many places, Sakaar most likely: an equally beautiful and disgusting planet. Similar to Midgard in that sense."

"As a matter of fact, I kinda like this place," Iron Man spoke again.

"I have nothing against Midgard, Anthony. I merely stated an observation. I apologise if I've offended you." You looked among their ranks. "Where is Thor Odinson? I have a message for him."

"From?"

"Odin: Allfather."

"Come again?"

"His dad."

Thor remained in bed. When JARVIS announced to him he had a visitor, he assumed it was Steve inviting him downstairs for food. When he opened the door, however, he was greeted by an old face. Not a literal old face, but the beautiful, blemish-free free face of an old friend and crush.

"(Y/n)," he breathed. "What a pleasant surprise." His lips stretched into their first grin in weeks. "Why are- why are you here?"

"Your father asked that I bring you news of home." You leaned closer to whisper then next bit. "And he also wanted to know how Loki is behaving."

"Brother is fine," he returned quietly. "How have you been? I assume you are still training. Have you been courted yet?"

Your eyes grew wide and blood flooded your cheeks. "No, no, I can't say that. No one thinks of me in such ways."

"Of course they do! Fandral often talked of your beauty."

"Ah, yes, Fandral the Dashing. He finds every living creature with an Aesir-like form attractive."

Thor leaned against his doorframe. "Would you like to have dinner with me tonight?"

"As in... a date? Are you asking to court me?"

"I suppose I am." His smirk grew in size. He's been wanting to ask to court you since you were teenagers (as a human equivalent). He never thought being dumped would provide him this opportunity.

"I would like that." You smiled back, but your grin faltered.

"What is it?" His own smile vanished. His muscles grew heavy with concern.

"Don't you worry? Your reputation as future king could be slandered by your choice in partner. The Warrior Prince dating the Archer?" You averted your eyes to your hands, where thumbs dug paths through the muscle. "You need a suitable partner to rule with you. Me, I'm seen as a coward now."

"Why? I have never met a warrior more skilled than you. The only marksman who could rival your accuracy is a friend of mine, Clint Barton."

"You are so very good at consoling people, Thor," you stated, words soaked with sarcasm.

"What did I say?"

"Never assure someone they aren't as good as someone else."

"I meant to say that no Asgardian could beat you in a battle."

"Even you?"

He went to say something, but stopped before any sound came out. His head tilted from side to side as he tried to find the correct words.

"Are you alright?" You chuckled. Thor felt his stomach flip.

"You always leave me at a loss for words."

"Who needs words? Actions always convey more." You looked into Thor's eyes. The blue mixed with more colours you had never seen there before. Green, grey, specks of gold. A hand caressed your cheek.

"I would very much like to kiss you, (Y/n)."

"Then so be it."

You both leaned in, meeting in a chaste kiss. Thor kept one hand on your cheek, letting the other fall to your hip. Your own tangled into his golden locks, tugging ever so gently.

Footsteps approached, but Thor kept you pressed tight against his chest.

"Oh, man, sorry. Uh, Tony wanted me to let you know that there's Chinese food on the table downstairs." Bruce Banner looked away from the two of you, practically inhaling each other.

"Thank you, Banner, but we won't be eating with you tonight."

"Yeah, okay, I'll be leaving now." Bruce shuffled away, disappearing down the hall.

"I've never known you to turn down food." You shot Thor a strange look.

"Are we not traveling home for the night?"

"To Asgard it is, My Prince." You shared a smile and another short kiss. Tugging him to the balcony, you called for your ride. "Heimdall!"

The multicoloured lights of the Bifrost surrounded you.

The night went so well you forgot to ask the Avengers what was going on with Loki. Luckily, Thor knew everything and told Odin himself.
