Heals were tapping down the empty hallway. The sounds resonated into the stagnant air. Each step was deliberate, precise. The figure stopped outside the door of the med bay.

Natasha Romanoff scowled at the door and pushed in the code to open the doors. They slid open and closed with a hiss of air, and when she was certain the doors were closed, Natasha ran over to the bed in which you lay.

You were sleeping, it seemed, as your eyes were shut just as softly as your breathing. A light smile pulled at your lips. Cuts and bruises still littered your face from the explosion. You had gotten caught in it while on a mission with Nat and Clint. You had to make sure the two of them had gotten out of the building, and you paid the price.

Natasha's eyebrows furrowed in concern, checking your monitors and some of the facial injuries.

The two of you had been a thing for nearly a year now and hadn't told anyone. Not even Clint knew the two of you were together. You had been wanting to move in together, but figured someone would find out. That someone being Tony Stark.

You stirred and flicked your eyes open. As your pupils dilated, you tried to make out the fuzzy shapes around you. The bright red was an instant indicator of your girlfriend hovering close by.

"Hey, Nat." You smiled prominently at the still blurry figure.

"God, you're so stupid." Natasha gripped your hand and placed a kiss on the knuckles.

"You love me though," you chuckled. "Can you get me some water, hon? I'm really thirsty." Natasha obliged and left for only a minute. Within that minute, the med bay door slid open to reveal Captain Rogers.

"Hey, (Y/N), it's good to see you awake. How are you feeling?"

"Better, Steve. Thank you." It was then that Natasha had walked back into the room with a bottle of water. She handed it to you, but quickly looked at Steve.

"Did you need anything?" She sounded slightly confused, and her voice sounded strained at the end.

"I'm just checking on (Y/N)." Nat nodded, and the two sat on opposite sides of your bed. The three of you talked for a while before Steve left for the night.

It seemed only minutes before Clint walked in. Natasha was holding your hand, so she quickly withdrew. "Hey, Clint." The two of you chorused.

"Hey, how're you doin' kid?"

"I'm alright, thanks. What brings you here?"

"Just... checking in." Clint pulled a face and shrugged his shoulders. "I do have to go though. It's good to see you awake, kid."

"Nice seeing you too, Clint."

When the doors shut, you and Nat let out sighs. You chuckled and placed your hand over hers.

"One of these days, we're gonna tell them." Then the two of you sat quietly, exchanging the occasional remark. Hours passed of you two just drinking in each other's presence.

When nine rolled around, Nat was about to leave. "I'll come check on you tomorrow. I can't wait till you're out of here, and when you are, I'm taking you out to dinner." You both chuckled and she leaned in to kiss you. Just as your lips touched, the door to the infirmary opened once more.

This time, Tony walked in and his eyes widened before a smirk covered his face. "Oh. My. God." He started laughing. "I'm telling everyone." He quickly back pedaled out of the room and sprinted down the hall.

"Nat," you asked nervously.

"It'll be fine. We shouldn't hide it anymore, anyways," she replied. With a soft smile, you pulled her back down into a soft kiss.

"Go home. Sleep. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Just get better, damn it. I want to take you home soon."
