A crush.
Crush
"[countable] informal a feeling of love and admiration for someone, often someone you know you cannot have a relationship with. It wasn't really love, just a schoolgirl crush. have a crush on someone: I used to have a massive crush on my geography teacher."
At least that's what the internet said, and I had it bad for Joseph.
It was an average Tuesday afternoon, and we were having combined Physics lesson, which meant I was in the same class as Joseph.
I honestly was paying attention, I really was, but for the small writing intervals we had, my eyes were glued to Joseph's face. He was so perfect, yet helplessly flawed.
The fact that he had a few dark spots on his light skin and his trousers waist band was so big, it kept falling down to his butt, little things only a stalker would notice. Not that I was....
But while my eyes were glued to him, his were stuck on another. The infamous Lois Solesi, prettiest, smartest and anonymously voted, Most Beautiful Girl of the 38th Set. Everyone knew her and they all knew about the thing Joseph had for her. All that was left was for Joseph to make it official, anyone could see how much of a power couple they'd be.
I would be a liar if I said I wasn't jealous of her. She had the beauty, brains and the guy, but I wasn't sure about the manners.
For the past half year, I'd been in the same class as Lois and she'd only spoke one sentence to me, "I hate people like you." And that was enough to keep me away.
I'd heard from others that Lois wasn't as bad as I thought she was but either way she still gave me a bad vibe. I was snapped out of my daydream when Mrs. Owolabi started dictating a question.
I was usually fast at solving so in due time I was among the first 4 to rush to the teacher for validation of our solutions, being no.4, then out of nowhere came Joseph. He stood behind me, pressing his front against my back side, I wasn't sure if it was an excuse to touch me or his eagerness to submit but I felt my face grow hot.
Seconds later, I pulled out of the line. Turning around to meet a smirking Joseph just standing there. He didn't seem so eager once I was out of the line, my eye brows furrowed and I released a deep breath. Boys were unpredictable and confusing.
After the Joseph scenerio it wasn't long until class was over but my mind still went back to the feeling of the tall boy against my backside, the heat that was created from contact. "Kolupo, let's go."
I snapped out of my day dream and started packing up. What the hell was I thinking?Me and Joseph were never happening. I will forever be an admierer and even though it sucked, that touching thing was all a mistake and I was thinking too much into it.
It was easier getting out of school today, I didn't have to pick any dirt or anything cause the school was usually scarce at this time which was about four o'clock, mostly cause they were chased out.
I usually left the school premesis the moment I was out but today, I was delayed. Chants and yelling echoed through the quiet area that was the parking spots. Dust was rising and seconds later It became louder.
Easily I spotted a crowd and after getting the attention of my friends, we all went to check it out. Almost as expected, it was a fight. Tami and Kosi looked to be the fighters in question.
Tami was a light skinned shorty who thought he was everything because He did bad things. Things that must not be named. He usually wore his uniform pants really low and was massively loud and annoying.
Kosi on the other hand was tall and lean, he was much bigger than Tami but they looked the same strength wise. Kosi was mostly quiet when I saw him, he was known, yeah but only because of his friends.
Both boys were barking insults at eachother, being held back by their friends. A few minutes later and they looked to have calmed down. But before anyone could see it coming, Tami swung his fist at Kosi and it started.
In the blink of an eye, both boys were rolling around on the floor, kicking, punching, anything to hurt the other. I stood still, watching as they let out their rage and waste away strength.
It took half an hour to pull both boys away and lead them in opposite directions, it took another half hour for everyone to stop buzzing about the fight and go home.
It took me an hour to get home from school and when I did, I gaped at the sight before me.
*Sorry for the late, really late update, I was busy with school and other things. Hope you like it, Caoi!*
