Chapter 23
"To think that saying goodbye takes only seconds but letting go can take years."

{Ian's P.O.V}

"What? What did you just say?! NO No that can't happen......No please No.... Hopeless!!!.....She isn't going to wake up, Is she doctor?" I said as tears streamed down my face.
"We are waiting for the impossible to happen."
"What?!" I said pushing the chair behind me till it touched the wall.

{Eric's P.O.V}
I stood up and i went to Ian to calm him down. He was in so much pain.
"Please Doctor. Can you leave us alone?"
The doctor left and Ian fell down to the ground. He buried his face between his legs and i could sense that he was crying silently.
"Ian Please calm down." I said as tears rolled down my cheeks. I can't help it too. Rose is dying and we are helpless. We can't do anything to help her. We just have to wait but it seems like nothing is going to change. I am slowly giving up too.......
I knelt down beside Ian and i patted his back. He raised his head and looked at me, his eyes were all puffy and red.
"I am losing her right?" He said while tears were streaming down his face.
"We shouldn't give up, Ian." I sighed.

"Are you even convinced with that? We already gave up."

"What can we do Ian? All we can do is just wait and not give up."

"I am tired, Eric.....I really am."

"I know Ian......Just calm down......Everything is gonna be ok."

{Ian's P.O.V}
*Flashback*
"Hey hey look at me huh look at me Rose." I said those words while putting my hands under her chin raising it to make her look at me in the eye. When i saw her eyes my heart shattered into a million pieces, who would have imagined that someone like her would be broken like that. Someone who inspires people would be the one who needs to be inspired. Someone who helps people would be the one who needs the most help. Someone who comforts people would be the one who needs to be comforted. Someone who saves people need to be saved. Her eyes were now full of darkness not like the first time i saw her full of hope and inspiring.
"Everything is gonna be okay."
"I....a..m.. tir...ed..I...a..n."
"Calm down okay calm down."
I put my hands around her shoulder. She looked at me and her look was something i have never seen before. A look of missing something like that. Like she felt relieved to find someone who is there for her. We were looking at each other's eyes. We were like this for a couple of minutes. I pulled her for a hug and i hugged her tightly. At first she didn't make any reaction but then i felt her hands on my back hugging me and pulling me closer to her. We were like this until she stopped crying. Then she whispered something in a very low voice.
"Thank you."
*End of Flashback*

{Eric's P.O.V}
Ian suddenly stopped crying. He was staring blankly at the wall infront of him.
"Ian?!" I said but he didn't seem to answer or even look at me.
"Ian?!" He didn't answer also. It was like he was in another world.
"IAN!!!" He then looked at me.
"Were you shouting Eric?"
"Are you okay Ian? I think you just zoned out..."
"I....I'm fine....I am fine...I will go check on Rose." He said then got up from the ground, adjusted his clothes and left.
"That's weird! I hope you don't lose your mind, Ian."
