Chapter 27

"Nothing ever ends poetically. It ends and we turn it into poetry. All that blood was never once beautiful. It was just red."

{Eric's P.O.V}
I was shocked by what I saw. My eyes widened…..I found Rose sitting on the floor curled up in a ball, her face buried between her legs, her arms wrapped under her knees tightly. There was glass shattered on the floor and her hands were covered with blood. I quickly ran to her and knelt beside her.

“Rose! What happened to your hands?” I said worryingly but she didn't respond or even raise her head to look at me.

“Rose! Please look at me.” I said as I gently caressed her shoulder. She raised her head to look at me. Her eyes were so full of tears and she was shivering.

“Hey, It's okay. Just take a deep breath.” She stared at me blankly after I said those words then she just exploded.

“NOTHING IS EVER GOING TO BE OKAY, ERIC! NOTHING!!” She said then she continued crying again. I couldn't do anything else except wrapping my arms around her shoulder and pulling her close to me. She cried hysterically that I could feel her tears on my shirt. I gently patted her shoulder to comfort her. She remained silent for a few seconds then she started talking again while tears streamed down her face.

“He left me like I did, Eric……Now I realize how hurt he was when I left him….Now I feel the pain and it is killing me…..Everything is becoming shittier in my life. Everything……I have cancer…..The person whom I love left me for his ex…...I am alone……all alone Eric……”

“I am here Rose….I am here now…..I am your friend and I am your brother…..I promise that I won't leave you.”

“Really? You are not going to leave me!” She said while wiping her tears with the back of her hands.

“Of course!” I said then she wrapped her arms around my neck , I wrapped mine around her waist and I hugged her tightly.

“Now let's clean your wounds.” I said then I helped her get up and lead her to her bed. She sat on the bed. I went to the bathroom and opened the medicine cabinet, I took a bandage and an antiseptic then I went back to her. I kneeled down and I took her hands. I started cleaning her wounds. Her hands were badly wounded.

Later…….......

“Thank you, Eric.”

“No problem, Rose. It is my duty as your friend. Now go to sleep. You look tired.”

“Aren't you going home?”

“And leave you here alone?! Hell no!”

“Please Eric, go home. I will be fine.”

“Nope, I am staying tonight whether you like it or not.”

“Eric! Please I need to be alone.”

“Sorry Rose, I am not leaving you alone.” I said and she sighed then she lied on the bed. I covered her with a blanket and she quickly drifted to sleep. I went to the bathroom and I cleaned the whole mess that Rose did then I went to sleep on the couch in the living room.
