Lily slid into the passenger seat.

"Put your seatbelt on." She obeyed. She always forgets her seatbelt.

"My friends will be waiting in front of the school." She said.

I drove to her school and I stopped in front of the two girls waiting for us.

Lily never really have friends over in our house. She's always the one going out to their houses. I don't know if that's always been the case or if she stopped having friends over when I came into the house.

The two girls slid into the backseat and immediately their voices and laughter filled the car.

"Guys this is my ah... brother, Harry." She said to them. I didn't say anything or look at them. But I heard the two girls whisper things to each other.

"Harry this is Samantha and Lilian." I just nodded at them from the rearview mirror.

"He's the one who just came here from England right?" One of the girls at the back asked.

"Yeah." Lily said then she briefly looked at me.

Moments later I was pulling up in front of the public library.

"We'll just catch the bus later." Lily told me and they got out of the car.

I watched them walk towards the library. Laughing and whispering to each other. Seems like they're talking about me cause one of the girls even looked back.

As I was about to start the car again, I saw Lily's phone on the passenger seat.

I grabbed it and ran towards them calling her name.

She walked back to me.

"You left your phone." I said handing it to her.

"Thanks." She said. She looked into my eyes a second longer. Then she surprised me. By giving me a peck on the cheek. Then I watched her run to her friends.

"What was that?" I heard her friend ask from the distance.

"What? He's my brother." Lily said.

Yes I am. But she's never done that before. She's never even looked at me the way she's been looking at me lately.

Something's telling me that something's changed since what happened in her room.
