"Wow honey! This dress is wonderful!" Mom exclaimed as she held the little dress in her hands and admired it. I picked it up and paid for it yesterday. It almost costed me my whole month's salary, but I don't mind, it was the first time I ever spent money on Lily so even I felt happy about it. Since mom came home really late last night, she didn't have the chance to take a look at the dress.

It's 8 am and we all just had breakfast. Lily brought the dress down in a hanger because mom wanted to see it. I can literally see the excitement in her face. Both in their faces actually.

"And you paid for it honey?" I didn't notice that mom was talking to me till Lily nudged my side.

"Huh? Uhm... yeah." I shrugged my shoulders.

"Don't worry honey, I'll pay you back. I'm just so busy lately, I didn't even know it's Lily's prom already." It's true, mom's been really really busy. But I really intended to buy Lily her dress.

"No mom. That's not necessary. I really wanted to buy it for her." I explained. Lily followed it with an assuring nod and mom smiled.

"That's really nice of you Harry." She placed a hand on my arm and gave me a thankful smile.

"That's okay mom." I wrapped my hand on top of hers on my arm.

"You know, I don't understand you two. Sometimes you're like a cat and dog, but then other times like brother and sister." She shook her head at her confusion and sat back down on her stool to continue drinking her coffee.

"Brother and sister huh? That literally means cat and dog mom... that's how they're supposed to be." I chuckled at the thought.

"I guess so, but I'm glad you're in good terms right now." She looked at both Lily and I like she's proud of us. It was making me uncomfortable though. Maybe because we looked like a scene in a happy family movie right now. "I have to go to work now okay? I promise I'll be back before seven and help you get ready sweetie." Lily nodded in response. Mom stood up and gave Lily a kiss on the forehead. She moved around the stool and walked towards me, looking at me expectantly, I leaned down and gave her a soft peck on the cheek. "Bye." She called out before stepping out the door.

Lily took her dress back to her room while I watched mom as she backed away from the driveway. As soon as her car was out of sight, I stepped out and lit a cigarette. I haven't smoked in a while, but it's not like I need it, It's just become a habit I guess.

I don't need to be at the cafe till 11 am so I still have a little more time to spend with Lily. I'm really thankful that my shift ends at 6 pm, so I'll be home to see Lily in her dress and fully made up.

After I finished my stick I went back in and locked the door. I went upstairs and straight to Lily's room. Her door was slightly open so I decided to take a look between the crack. I slightly poked my head in and as soon as I saw her, my mouth curved into a smile. Lily was trying on her dress and twirling in front of a mirror. She had a huge smile on her face... just like me. I decided to interrupt her by stepping into her room. "Knock knock!" I said when I came in.

She turned around immediately and blushed in embarrassment. "You really can't wait can you?" Her cheeks turned a deeper shade of red.

"Uhm... I haven't tried it on here at home." She explained. I walked closer and looked at her from head to toe, stopping only at the skin right where the dress stops. She quickly crossed her legs when she noticed where I was looking.

"You... are... so... beautiful." I said with each step. I grabbed her hands when I was right infront of her and pulled her near the window. I pushed the thick curtain to the side and admired her in the sunlight. I then pulled her into a dancing position, my hands on her waist and hers on my shoulders.
