"Lock up okay?" I told Lily before Lena and I stepped out the door. Lena was wearing jeans and a white coat over a black shirt. She said she didn't know if I'd pick her up because we didn't really talk about it earlier so she just decided to come over. Talking to Lena while Lily's around is really awkward. It's like she's watching every word I say to her, that's why I felt anxious to leave.
"Okay Harry." Lily answered and tip toed to kiss me on the cheek before she closed the door. We walked up to the car and I opened the passenger seat for her. She thanked me before she got in and I ran around to the driver's seat.
"You two are really close huh?" Lena asked once I've started to drive.
"Uhm... yeah. But it took some time before we got this close."
"Oh, why is that?" She pushed on with the conversation. I've just noticed that she's been silently tapping her fingers over her lap which suggested that she might be nervous.
"I just moved here a year ago. Did my mom tell you that?" She seemed to have nodded her head in memory.
"Oh yeah. Yeah she told me about that." Mom and her might have talked about a lot of things already.
"Soo..." I slightly tried to be more cheerful to make her relax. "How do you like this place so far?" I quickly turned my head towards her, waiting for her to answer.
"I like it here. We've already made a couple of friends and I seem to be doing good here." I don't know what she meant when she said she seemed to be doing good here. All I could think about was maybe she had something to runaway from. "Well, how about you?" She returned me the question.
"I came from a small town in England, but it was nothing like this one. It was more peaceful. But I guess I've grown to love this place anyway." I decided that I'm giving this place a chance. Since I've been with Lily, I started to be more guarded and careful, but I've also been happy, and being in this place that she truly loves, it makes me appreciate what's surrounding me now.
"Are you happier that you're with your mom and sister now?" I turned to the entrance of the University and headed towards the parking lot where the guard pointed me to.
"Yeah. I have nobody back home anyway." It's true. It has always been dad and I.
We've asked each other a couple more question before I found a good parking spot. I have a feeling that this place will be crowded tonight because there still are cars looking for parking spots. Lena and I got out of the car and looked around.
"Have you been here before?" She asked. It's already dark and the place is covered with lights hanging from the walls and buildings. People are coming through from the other entrance and are going around the booths.
"No, I haven't. How about you?" My mom teaches in this university. It is the only one in our town and as we started walking around I could actually see some familiar faces.
"I haven't too, but I've met some of your mom's students who participate in the gallery, that's why she wanted me to come here tonight." We walked towards the huge field where the different booths are. Some are selling food, tickets to some shows inside the building and some are just simply showing off students' artwork.
We came across this booth where a girl stepped to us and asked if we wanted tickets to the University's museum.
"Hey do you want to?" I turned to Lena.
