Chapter 3

    After all what Raj did, Zen told Shirayuki and I to choose our own fate and so we did. Me and Shirayuki moved into a house with a kind women. We both had our own rooms so we could have our privacy. The women came into my room and said, "Goodmorning dear, how are you?" I said as I was putting on my boots, "I am doing great. How is your morning so far?" "Oh it's just great! Shirayuki made this for me  and it can make my skin smoother." She said. "Those are one of the wonderful things Shirayuki can do." I said with a smile. "Are you going to get a new job like Shirayuki?" She asked. "Yes, I want to be a palace guard." I answered. "Smart idea." She said and gave me a tray of food. "Thank you." I said. "You're welcome, have a great day." She said and walked out of my room.

 Me and Shirayuki walked in town finding a shop for herbs and we went inside. The man at the counter talked to Shirayuki and got a paper and left. "What's the paper for?" I asked. "I could become a court herbalist if I pass the test." She answered. "I bet you'll pass," I said. "Thank you, Akari." She said and we walked to the castle gates. "You there!" A guard said and walked up to us. "I'm supposed to be here for Mitsuhide and Kiki, the royal guards. The other guard came over and said, "Wait, these girls are supposed to be here!" "My apologies, we were just informed you both are supposed to be here." The guard said. "Shirayuki!"

    Zen jumped down from a fence and Shirayuki talked with Zen. I heard Mitsuhide calling for Zen and he told me to go with Mitsuhide. "Guys, let Akari in." Zen told the guards and the guards obeyed and I went into the castle and found Mitsuhide. "Hello Mitsuhide, How was your day so far?" I asked. "It was good, now by any chance, did you see Zen anywhere?" He asked. "He went with Shirayuki." I said. "Oh, I see. Anyway, would you like to practice with me?" He asked. "What is it?" I asked. "Sparing." He answered. "Sure." I said and we spared till Zen came back. "Oh Zen, you're back." Mitsuhide said. "Yeah, it felt good getting away from here for a while, now how many times did Akari beat your ass?" Zen asked. "Too many..." Mitsuhide sighed. Zen started to laugh. "I guess she's more advanced than you." He said. "I will do better next time..." Mitsuhide reassured himself.

    Kiki came over and we started sparing again. Mitsuhide beat me at least two times this time. Then at one point, we stopped and Zen said, "Leaving the castle was quite inspiring." "Glad to hear, Sir Maybe that will inspire you to finish that paperwork," Kiki said. Zen stopped for a moment and then said, "Shirayuki's working hard out there... Fine!" and he walked off. "The Shirayuki effect, amazing," Mitsuhide commented.

    I went home and I asked the kind women if Shirayuki came home. "Did Shirayuki come home?" I asked. "Not that I know of. I don't think so. I hope she's alright." She said. I ran up to her room very worried. I opened the door and saw no one in the room. I went out of the room and closed the door behind me with my eyes wide open. I went to my room and put my hand over my face. 'Maybe she's just late. I hope I did nothing wrong... Did I?' I thought to myself and sat down on my bed. I waited a little longer and she never came. 'Maybe she'll be here by morning...' I thought and went to sleep.

    I woke up in the morning and I went to Shirayuki's room and didn't see her. Now this made me very worried. I looked out the window to see Zen on his horse. I went to go see Zen and he asked, "Is Shirayuki here." "No, I checked last night and this morning and didn't find her. Her light was never turned on last night either." I said. Zen got on his horse's back and the horse started to run. "Zen!" I yelled but he kept riding away. 'I hope he will find her and soon...' I thought.

    She didn't come till night. I sat in my room all day worrying about her and then I saw lighting outside. I ran up to her and hugged her. "Shirayuki, what happened!?" I asked. "I was just kidnapped, but Zen saved me." She answered. Then she walked up to a guard giving him some type of balm. Me and Shirayuki walked home together and she told me what happened. "So, I got off from a ship and went into the mountains to get some herbs. While I was trying to get a couple herbs, a man named Mihaya knocked me out and took me to his mansion. He put me in a cell and I was there for a day and until the next night. I had to try to fight my way outside. When I got outside, he found me and almost got burned by the torch he was holding, but then Zen came and saved me and here we are." She explained the whole story.

    "I'm sorry I didn't come... You see, When Zen came this morning, he rode so fast, I wouldn't be able to keep up, so I didn't have a chance. I'm glad you're safe now." I said and hugged her. "It's ok, Akari. Now go have some rest." She said and I went to my room and went to sleep that night without worry.
