Zen, Mitsuhide, Kiki, and I were heading to a fort while Shirayuki was heading to a town. Once we got to the fort, it looked deserted. "It's strange to see no one is on watch," Kiki mentioned. "Hey! Anyone there?! We're from the royal guard!" Mitsuhide yelled. "Be right there!" I heard a voice yell and a soldier came running from a door at the gates. Then slipped and fell. "Woah, are you ok?" I asked. "Yes, and you're all here. Your highness came too?" The soldier asked. "We haven't been getting any reports. I was growing concerned," Zen said. "You have to leave!" The soldier yelled
"Master!" Obi yelled. "Looks everyone's asleep in the fort," Obi said. "Asleep?" Zen asked. "I've never seen you before and you to," The soldier said and looked at me. "I'm Akari, Prince Zen's new aide," I said. "And I'm Obi, the prince's other attendant," Obi said. "Not quite, trials aren't over yet," Zen said. 'How long is it gonna take?" Obi asked. "As long as it takes," Zen said walking through the gates. "You can't! The place is possessed by some evil spirit!" The soldier said. He explained the whole situation. We were lead to a room full of sick men and they looked terrible.
Me, Mitsuhide, and Kiki were waiting outside the room and Zen came out. "Zen, you should try to get back out by sunset," Kiki suggested. "Right, Mitsuhide, don't let anyone in. I want contact to a minimum," Zen said. "Of course, Sir," Mitsuhide agreed. "Master, wait, do you think going in there is the greatest idea? There's a lot to risk!" Obi said. "I'll be willing to take the chance. The soldiers need us to find a solution," Zen said. "This is crazy. We can't stop him?" Obi asked. "He'd do anything for his soldiers," Mitsuhide said. "Wait, why aren't you guys advising him? That's your job, right?" Obi asked. "Yeah, that's our job," Mitsuhide said. "And why are you going with Mitsuhide? Aren't you supposed to be with Zen?" Obi asked me. "I'm always supposed to be with Mitsuhide," I said and walked with Mitsuhide.
I looked around the fort alone for a little bit. Then a wolf came out of my sword. "Are you the one that was talking?" I asked. "Yeah, I'm Luna and I'll be your guide," Luna said. "Oh, that's interesting. Can you sense any "evil spirits?" I asked. "Let me see... No, I can't seem to sense any," She said. "Then, I'll tell them there are no evil spirits," I said while running to the watchtower. Once I got up there, they were talking about the armory being empty. "Should we shift our focus to hunting bandits?" Obi asked. "Put your weapons away," Zen commanded. "Well, Luna, my talking sword said there was no evil spirit here," I said. "Your sword talks?!" Zen asked. "Yeah, apparently," Mitsuhide said.
"Wait, what if we brought Shirayuki. Maybe she might know why the soldiers are getting sick," Kiki mentioned. "Akari, Mitsuhide, go get her," Zen commanded. "Yes, Sir," we both said and got on our horses to go get Shirayuki
~
"So Akari, What-!" Mitsuhide said. "AKARI, WATCH OUT!!!" I heard Luna yell. An arrow was piercing the skin on my back. "Mitsuh...ide... Please get Shirayuki..." I said while I fell off my horse and I could still hear and see. "There's the Wolf princess! Get her!" A bandit yelled. Luna turned into her human for and took the sword and started fighting the bandits while Mitsuhide got off his horse and ran toward the bandits. After Mitsuhide and Luna fought the bandits, I tried getting up, but fell back down. "Akari, don't hurt yourself!" Mitsuhide said and ran over to me. Mitsuhide sat me up and pulled the arrow out of me, "I'm gonna try to hurry, Akari! Hang in there!" Mitsuhide said while he picked me up and got on his horse. Luna got on my horse and we rode to the town where Shirayuki was and my eyes were shutting slowly till everything went black.
Mitsuhide's P.O.V.
Once I got Shirayuki, we headed back to the fort. We took Akari to a room where she could rest at. Shirayuki took care of her wound and she asked, "Mind if you take care of Akari for a while?" "Of course, Zen said I always need to be with her anyways," I said. "Good, I'll go and treat the other soliders now. Make sure she doesn't get out of her bed," She said with a smile and walked to the room where the ill soldiers were.
I sat in a near by chair and waited for Akari to wake up. 'Why do I want to kiss her? I know I have strong feelings for her, but I don't want to kiss her while she's asleep...' I thought. "Kiss her cheek," Luna said. "What, no. I cannot do that," I said while my cheeks grew very warm. "Hah, I know you wanna kiss her, so at least kiss her cheek while she's unconscious," She said. "How do you know I want to kiss her?" I asked. "The way you're looking at her," She said.
I leaned in to kiss her cheek and luckily she didn't wake up. "Awe, you should do that more often while she's awake," Luna said. I blushed, "Maybe I will," I said with a smirk. "No, I dare you to do it every single day," She said. "Wh-Why?! She'll think things!" I said loudly. "It's a dare and tone it down, would ya?" She said. I looked over at Akari and thought to myself, 'If only you knew...'
Akari's P.O.V.
I woke up to the glittering sun creeping onto my face. "Goodmorning, Akari. How are you feeling?" I heard Shirayuki's voice say. I sat myself up and said, "...My back hurts a little..." I said as I tried to get off the bed. "Akari, Please sit back down, you might reopen your wound!" Shirayuki said. "...No, it's fine, I can handle a little pain," I said and stood back up.
"Well, here's a set of clothes for you. You got blood on your old guard uniform and this is what I had," She said and gave me the clothes. I went to go change into them.
It felt so much lighter than my old outfit. "Thank you sister, for everything," I thanked. "You're welcome and you should also thank Mitsuhide too," She said. "Oh, that's right, thank you for reminding me," I said as I walked out the door. It was a bit cold, but I didn't mind. I found Mitsuhide up on one of the towers outside. He was looking into the distance and I said, "Mitsuhide, thank you for what you did," I said. He looked over at me.
He walked over to me. "I was super worried for you and I'm glad you're fine now," He said as he put his hands on both of my shoulders. "Oh, th-" I said and he kissed my forehead. I blushed a ton. "Please don't get the wrong idea," He said. "O-Oh... Do you mean it as a friendly thing?" I asked. "You can put it that way..." He said and his cheeks had a tint of pink on them. "Thank you for worrying, Mitsuhide," I said and ran away.
"So Master, how do you feel right now?" Luna asked out of the blue. I jumped a little and turned around. "...Why did he kiss me all the sudden...?" I asked. "Hm, I don't know," She said. "I'll worry about it later..." I said and walked away. I started to walk faster. Then, I started packing my stuff up in my bag because I was told we were leaving and we said goodbye to the soliders. Then, we got on our horses and left.
