Chapter 11

    The next day, I was hanging put with Shirayuki and Obi. Me and Shirayuki were picking herbs in the garden. Obi was wearing fancier clothes today and he didn't enjoy it. There was gonna be guests coming that day. We were gonna get Ryu to come back with us. Shirayuki started yelling his name but was too occupied with what he was doing. We heard a bird and it bad beautiful blue feathers. It flew to Ryu and then a whistle was blown and the bird went to where the sound was being produced.

    "Did she call that bird with a whistle?" Shirayuki asked. "Sure looked like it," Obi said. We picked up our baskets and walked over to the woman with black hair. "Thank you, you caught our friend Ryu's attention," Shirayuki said. "You hair, it's a pretty red. Your hair is so long and pretty," The woman said. "Yeah, it's long alright," I said. "That was amazing what you just did with the bird," Shirayuki said. "Your the first people I talked to till now," she said. "What are you here for?" Shirayuki asked. "I have business with the 2nd prince," she said. "Are you one of the guests Prince Zen mentioned?" Obi asked.

    "I don't know, but this is great. I could use someone to talk to, do you have an extra minute?" She asked. "My shift isn't done yet, so-" "No big rush, Shirayuki. It's almost break. I'll head back," Ryu said and headed back. "So, what're your guy's names?" She asked. "I'm Shirayuki and that is my sister, Akari. I'm a court herbalist and she's Prince Zen's aide," Shirayuki said. "Nice to meet you, my name is Kihal and that's my bird, Popo," she said. "Your friends with Popo? That's the most beautiful bird I've ever seen," Shirayuki said.

    Shirayuki spoke with her and I told them I needed to get back. Not too long after I got back Kihal and a lord named, Breker came to talk with Zen. While lord Breker was talking, I could tell he's up to something no good. I didn't like his aura one bit. Then, Mitsuhide, me, Kiki, and Zen had a meeting. "The Lord doesn't obviously care about the birds since he keeps killing them. It's all about hunting with his rich friends, end of story," Mitsuhide said. "I heard their mineral ore is walnut stone," Kiki said. "Yeah, and it's not worth much," I said. "He does have a right to do it, but what he's doing is not right. My hands are tied," Zen said.

    "What's this?" Kiki asked. "A trinket they gave me. It's an arrow souvenir. Men like that think opinion is fact," Zen said. "Why would he bring that?" I asked. "Maybe just a good gesture and a formal greeting. Never met him till today," Zen said. "Oh, I think your being used," Mitsuhide said. "Shut up," Zen said. "Yeah, shut up," Kiki said. "Shut your mouth, would ya?" I asked. "This is where you're supposed to back me up here, Akari!" Mitsuhide said with shock. "Enough, I want to simply help that girl. I don't like what Breker is doing," Zen said. Obi knocked on the door and came in, "Zen, I need you for something," Shirayuki said.

    Zen went to go talk to Kihal for a while. It seems like the birds can benefit the castle. So, we were going to have a test tomorrow night. Kihal picked Shirayuki as her assistant for the test. Kihal asked me to go just in case something happens. I accepted. The next day, we had to get the bird to the watchtower and sign a document in just 25 minutes. Lord Breker thought it would be a great idea for himself to come early with me and Shirayuki which I found suspicious. We headed for the lakeside tower and it took us a while to get there. Me, Shirayuki, and Breker were on top of the watchtower waiting.

    "Young Akari and Shirayuki, I'd like to strike a deal with you, I can offer you under my support with deep cover if you make this test fail," Breker said. "It is very important that this test will not fail!" Shirayuki yells. "Bad news, it's not going to!" Breker yells and throws Shirayuki into a room and he takes my wrist and throws me over the tower and I land into the water. 'Shit! My sword!' I thought. Now that I didn't have Luna with me, I was done for because I can't swim. I was sinking to the bottom of the lake. 'Is this where I'll die...? Shit, If only I had my sword, none of this would've happened!!!' I thought. I then saw blood in the water and realized it was coming from both of my arms.

    I was losing all my breath and my vision was about to go black...

    I was hearing a voice call for me.

    "Princess...!!!"

    'What? Who's calling?' I thought. I opened my eyes to see a man with white hair swimming toward me. I realized I was in a younger body. The man helped me swim up to the surface and I saw Goddess Selene all worried. "Princess, are you alright?!" she asked in worry. "Yes, I'm fine," I said...

      After that little memory, I felt a pair of lips on top of mine. I opened my eyes to see Obi trying to give me air. He swam me up to the surface. "Hey, you guys! Help her!" Obi yelled at 2 guards and they rushed over to me. Obi went back into the water to help Shirayuki find the bell. The guards noticed my arms were wounded, "Here Miss, let us help you with your arms," One soldier said. They bandaged my arms and I gave them a "Thank you" and went inside the tower. I waited until someone came into the tower.

    "Akari," Mitsuhide called. I swiftly looked over and saw his face was not too happy. He walked over to me. "I heard both of your arms got hurt," Mitsuhide said. "Yeah, I got hurt, surprise. Uh-" He touched both of my arms lightly and his expression turned sad. "Ok, maybe I shouldn't have said that..." I said looking away. He smiled a bit. "I knew you were being sarcastic," Mitsuhide said. "Heh..." I smiled. Then, he kissed my forehead. It was longer this time and it seemed for loving. I blushed.

    "This time, it seemed more loving," I said. He gave me a smile and took off his cape. "You might be cold," he said handing me his cape. "Thank you," I said taking his cape, "I just want you to know that I don't know how to swim," I mentioned. "O-Oh, so you almost drowned!?" he asked. "Yes, but Obi came to my rescue," I said. He gave me another smile and we stared into each other's eyes. I broke our gaze and walked out f the door. "A-Akari?" he questioned, but I never looked back.

'This is so strange... Is this how love works?' I thought.
