The woman crouched down so she could be face to face with the child. The child looked at her with her curious hazel eyes and long, dark red bangs while holding a teddy bear.
"I'll tell you what, sweetheart, just remember this: avoi ta reali fa humas" the woman said, giving the child a kiss on the cheek before tucking her into bed.
That stuck with the child ever since.
****NOTE:
Keep in mind, only the child is expected to know what this means and know what she said. This will be crucial to figuring out the history behind the words in bold and the dialogue between the people.

"So, how are we gonna do this?" Markus asks.
"I don't know," I say, "maybe knock on her door and pretend to need something?".
"Good idea Ravamara! You go do it!" Yavara says.
"I second that." Allister says.
"Me too." Savara adds.
"I'm with them." Markus adds.
"Fine! I'll go." I say.
I walk up the stairs and turn into a hallway to my right. I keep walking and then turn right again. Finally, I reach the end of the hallway and see mom and dad's room. I knock it on their door and mom answers.
"What?" she asks, straight to the point.
"Savara and Allister want their chocolate." I say.
"Follow me." mom says. I follow her down some more hallways and she leads me to a secret box full of chocolate.
"Can I have one?" I ask quickly. She pulls out three more chocolate bars.
"One for you, one for Markus, one for Yavara." she says while handing me the chocolate.
"Thanks." I say as she closes the box and walks down the hallway.
"Mom, is there something wrong?" I ponder.
"Why do you say that?" she asks, stopping abruptly.
"You're acting different." I state. She goes quiet.
"What is it? Is it Yavara? What's wrong?" I ask impatiently. She turns around.
"Look, as much as I'd love to tell you, it's best you don't know." she says softly.
"Just tell me!" I whine.
"It's more complicated than that. I'm not risking ruining what we already have. Not everything is so simple, I already introduced you to the real world, it's too much to introduce you to another." Mom responds.
"I heard you guys talking." I state.
"About what?" Mom asks.
"Yavara wanted to tell you something yesterday. She asked you if she should say it in Humaveran, should anyone overhear. The thing is, you're human, why would she ask you if she should speak in Humaveran if you weren't—" Mom cut me off.
"Don't even. Yavara sometimes just asks stupid questions. I'm almost certain I'm not Humaveran." Mom snaps, shutting down.
"I have to go anyways." Mom quickly adds and enters her room without looking back.
I nearly break out in a run as I come downstairs. As I'm running, my face goes pale with the possibility that mom may be Humaveran. I can't believe it. I refuse to believe it. Mom wouldn't lie to me, would she?
"How'd it go? What'd you find out?" Yavara asks excitedly.
"Guys, you're not gonna believe this." I say, trying to regain color in my face.
"What?" Markus asks.
"First, here's some chocolate Savara and Allister, also here's some for Yavara and Markus." I say, giving them their chocolate.
"Guys, I think mom may be Humaveran." I say, resisting the urge to throw up.
