"Mommy, tell me the story about her again." the little girl asked.

  "Who?" the mother asked back.

"The Evangeline." the little girl answered.

"Well, your older cousin, when she was younger she was pretty, talented, smart, kind, nice, all the things you want to be when you grow up. There was quite an age gap between you and her. About 10 years." the mother said, pausing.

"So.....like 16?" the little girl asked, excited.

"Ooh look at you you little know-it-all." the mother replied, messing with the little girl's hair.

"Anyways, Evangeline saw bad guys steal someone's food, so she decided to train herself to be the best fighter she could possibly be. The person was about 8 or so—" the little girl cut her mother off.

"Why didn't she scare off the bad guys?" the little girl questioned.

"Ah, well, beautiful, your cousin had this beautiful drawing on the left side of her neck. The drawing was of a gorgeous lotus flower in its prime. Nobody there liked people who were different, sadly. Evangeline eventually got strong enough to stop the bad guys, but now the bad guys' friends were mad at her. Evangeline fought off the bad guys more and more and one day a military general spotted her and asked her if she'd be interested in joining the army and she did. During a battle, she was piloting a plane and something occurred in which she didn't know what to do. While this was happening, the lotus flower on her neck started to glow and her eye color changed. Her ears turned into elf ears and she grew pretty wings." the mother said. The little girl's eyes were filled with shock, wonder, and admiration. The mother knew she had the little girl on edge.

"They had to jump out of the plane and land with a parachute, but they landed in the middle of the battlefield. Everyone was shocked and people on the other team wanted to take her, but she fought them and escaped by flying away. Ever since then, she's rested quietly in a field where no one can find her, but she still plans to continue helping people through the lotus flower. Because of her, the lotus flower adapted many names throughout her town such as "La Fluer de L'ange" or "The Angel's Flower" and "La Fluer de Chance" or "The Luck Flower". They say if you go to the flower that was planted in the battlefield with your deepest needs and desires, if it's reasonable, she'll grant you your needs and desires. She gives to all who truly respect her and those with pure intentions." the mother finished.

"But—" the mother cut off the child.

"Sweetie, it's getting late. Maybe we can continue tomorrow?" the mother questioned. The child nodded. The mother kissed the child goodnight and returned the chair she was sitting on back to its original spot.

I loved it. I loved them all...but I really need to go to mother. I don't believe it. Okay, maybe a little. I eventually make it to father's place and run into him.

  "Father." I say.

"Aymara, nice to see you." Father replies.

"Father, can you do me a favor?" I ask.

  "What?" he asks.

"Tell me the story of Evangeline again." I request. Father tells me the story again and it's just like I remembered.
