In the previous chapter, Emarina—also known as Sofiyah—mentioned the word "Amerivan" and Relvin, Verlynn, and Yavara were in utter disbelief. Sofiyah stated that she is Amerivan which is why they were in a state of utter disbelief. So, today, I decided to stop and use this chapter to explain what Amerivans are and help you figure out why there were shocked.
An Amerivan is someone who was possessed by a spirit or shared a body with one and then, when the spirit is gone, possesses abnormal abilities. An Amerivan doesn't always have to be like what I just defined them as because they could have children whilst the spirit is in them and then their child or children would be Amerivan. Unlike Humaverans, Amerivans were never experimented on. Amerivans also have Natural Ability, well, in the case that they're an offspring of a possessed person. Amerivan abilities are chosen by the spirit, not by the host. In contrast to Humaverans and Angelikans, Amerivans are actually protected by the government and are admired by some people. With Amerivans, the population is split up into fourths: those who love Amerivans, those who hate them, those who completely fear them, and those who treat them like equals. The reason they're protected by the government is because a spirit chooses someone to possess if they have unfinished business or maybe just to wreck havoc on your life for some apparent reason. Most people would usually be sort of honored if that happened (well, it depends what the spirit does). Amerivans are told to be no more as of 2650, so Sofiyah claiming to be Amerivan is HUGE. To tell the difference between Amerivans and other races and also for safety measures, Amerivans have specific things they're supposed to wear. Amerivan girls are required to wear at least one of the following things supplied to them by the government: black diamond earrings or white diamond earrings if you only have one piercing. Both if you have double ears piercings and you must have the white ones in the first piercings. If you don't have any piercings, you must wear a special black and white bow, a black and white ring, a necklace that has a half white diamond half black diamond jewel, or a bracelet (black and white of course). For boys, the same rule applies to earrings. If you're a boy and you don't have ear piercings, you can wear the bracelet, necklace, or the ring. This is a safety measure because then, people know who they are, what they're capable of, and the consequences they'll face if they're caught trying to kill them or already did so. It also makes sure they're extra protected when necessary.
As I mentioned before, Amerivans have abilities. Some common Amerivan abilities are: super strength, super speed, visions, telekinesis, invisibility, teleportation, last touch (an ability that allows you to trace back someone's actions before they died and figure out what happened before they died. Police officers that're Amerivan use this ability frequently, which ,ales getting away with murders like 50 times harder. There are two forms of this ability, the one I just explained and the one where you touch an item within the place of the incident and be able to trace the person's steps. Using last touch drains your energy a lot), Mother Nature (AKA earth manipulation), Poseidon (AKA water manipulation), and fire manipulation (I'm thinking about calling it Hades). Now readers, I can hear your little fingers moving as you aggressively comment that this story is now completely supernatural, but here's the catch: like I said before, the spirit chooses your power, so they can give you some lackluster power like visions and walk away—or should I say FLOAT away. Get it? No? Okay, I'll just walk myself out. The other thing is that normally an Amerivan gets at least one power that was the spirit's cause of death which means that let's say the spirit possessing you was a really fast runner but didn't know how to swim and, sadly, drowned. You would most likely get super speed and water manipulation or super speed or water manipulation.
Now, you also must be wondering why Amerivans are trusted more than Humaverans and Angelikans. Well, that's because at the time, police forces had a variety of ways to find you quickly if you acted up, Amerivans were scared straight. There's kind of no point in acting up if you'll get caught within three seconds. Now, with Humaverans and Angelikans—well, if you're Angelikan, you could potentially have wings as stated in "Background Info—Angelikans" and just fly away and they'll never get you XD, and that's too OP, but they're extinct so....yeah, and with Humaverans, well, they'll have a vision and be able to see this coming and would probably fight them off, considering they can use the fact that they have much faster reflexes to their advantage unlike Amerivans who only have powers. Actually, now that I think about it, people can just use their visions a lot which morphs it into some sort of fast reflex thingy, but hey, they'll still most likely get caught. Unlike Humaverans, Amerivans are most definitely allowed in Apermae Academy and other schools, but if they want to fight, they are to wear a restricter. A restricter is basically something that restricts them from using their powers. Anyways, I think that's all I have to tell you about Amerivans in this chapter, see you in the next chapter!
