A shake to my shoulder rudely kicks me out of my peaceful sleep, causing me to let out a rough groan of annoyance as I swat blindly at the air to make whatever it was go away. Sucking in a sharp breath of air, my eyes squeezed tight as I readjusted myself to go back to dreamland. My features relaxed after I was left alone... That was until something hit me hard in the face, startling me away.

"Ow! What the fuck?" I muttered, still not quite fully awake, as I brought a hand to my face where it was smacked. After sitting up slowly, I looked down to find it was a plastic water bottle that hit me, then froze once I locked glares with unamused, blue eyes peering at me from the opening of the bottom bunk. When he caught the irritated look, Saros smirked and raised a dark brow. I couldn't believe I was so tired to forget for a single moment where I was and who I was with. I could only give a sheepish smile in apology, silently begging not to have my head blown up on the spot for inconveniencing him, but the man said nothing as he tossed a paper bag onto my lap before sitting on the mattress beside me. He held one for himself, opening it up to pull out an egg sandwich.

I unintentionally found myself staring as he lifted a hand in the direction of a to-go cup of coffee that sat on the floor. He made a motion with his fingers, and it lifted off the ground to come to him, steadily as not to spill a drop. He took a sip then a bite of his sandwich, while I just sat there watching. I don't know why. This picture just seemed so strange to me. It felt odd seeing an all powerful super villain just eating breakfast and sipping coffee like a normal person. It was almost fascinating. It isn't long before he notices and narrows his stern eyes at me.

"What?" He snaps, sounding agitated. I opened and closed my mouth several times but couldn't find the words. My cheeks burned with embarrassment. How exactly does one explain that without offending someone who can literally kill me with the snap of his fingers? Saros rolls his eyes with a deep sigh before looking away from me, no longer interested in the reason. Thank God. "Stop gawking and eat, or else I'll never bring you outside food again."

"Right, sorry." I turn my attention to the bag he threw at me and opened it up, mentally scolding myself for my careless staring that could've gotten me into trouble. Inside, I find two donuts, one chocolate and one vanilla.

"I don't know if you have a preference, so I just grabbed basics. Be grateful you get this much." Saros watched me from the corner of his eye as he took another sip of his coffee, studying my reaction as if to see if I'd be ungrateful. It must've been a shock to see I had smiled slightly as I picked up the vanilla. They might be basic, but I'm just happy to eat something, even if it is more sugar. It was nice and fluffy, fresh too, and the frosting wasn't too sweet. Our breakfast is eaten in silence, but a good silence, a comfortable silence. While taking a swig of my water, I send a glance towards my kidnapper even turning towards him a bit.

"Thank you." My eyes widened when the man suddenly choked on his coffee, nearly spitting it out, but the villain quickly covered his mouth before that could happen. He recovered quickly, clearing his throat as he faced me, looking confused.

"For what?" He hissed. Wasn't it obvious? It's not like it's uncommon for someone to thank another for bringing them food. Sure, I might be a victim in all this, but he could've very easily left me to starve like he did last night. I figured showing a little appreciation would help my case a bit. Maybe he just didn't expect it? After all, who in their right mind thanks a villain for anything? What does that make me exactly? I've thanked him twice now.
