Your POV:

With a silent moan of boredom, I lean my folded arms and upper body against the glass counter in front of me that displays a wide selection of diamond jewelry that I'm meant to sell to customers, but the day has be going by so slow. I feel like melting to the floor and never get up. I suppose I should be happy about my uneventful day, considering it's my first day back at Calcy's Jewelry, but, honestly, I'd kill for even a little excitement right now. It's so dull. At times, I'd even find my E/C eyes wandering over to the entrance as though I expected one of Saros' masked men to bust in with a gun held to our heads telling us to empty the case and register.

Once, I even imagined Saros himself making an appearance, but I know how unlikely that would be. Calcy's is not a big name in the jewelry business, so getting robbed is an odd occurrence. Nothing has ever even happened in the time I've worked here, regardless of this city's high crime rate. My thirst for excitement is quenched when a news team enters the building with cameras in hand. I release a surprised gasp and drop behind the counter to hide, where I won't be found, causing my coworker and friend, Karen Cline, to breathe out a laugh. I tend to call her KC, though, which she seems to prefer over her real name. I bring a finger to my lips, silently telling the brunette to shut up, to which she rolls her eyes at before returning her attention to the small group that walked up to the counter.

"Hello, welcome to Calcy's! Can I help you with anything today?" She asks in an overly cheery tone, being extra smiley so that they won't suspect anything, but the expression was so fake, anyone could see through it. I nearly shake my head at the woman as I listen to the stranger's response.

"Is Y/N L/N working today by any chance?" A lady with a higher pitched voice asks, trying to be nice back, but I can only assume that her politeness was forced as well.

"Oh, I'm sorry, you just missed her. She went home early today." I can hear the news woman sigh in frustration, likely dropping her happy facade for a moment before returning to a pleasant look.

"That's too bad. I guess we'll just have to come back tomorrow. Honestly, we can never find her," she mutters the last bit under her breath in annoyance before everyone's footsteps head towards the door to leave. I breathe a sigh of relief after hearing the door shut, while KC looks down at me with a genuine smile.

"Code green."

I chuckle softly while using the counter to get off the floor and wince at my aching joints. Once I get to my feet, I dust off my light grey sweater, black leggings and blue, plaid skirt with a black, lace hem.

'We should really vacuum. The floor is a mess,' I note to myself while cringing slightly.

"Thanks, KC. I've barely been able to leave my apartment because of those people. It's like everywhere I turn, there's a camera in my face." I sigh softly, already tired of dealing with them, and it's only been a few days since my release from the hospital.
