•E/C: Eye Color

Author's POV:

"S-Saros, are you sure you want to do this," Y/N asks with a hint of fear in her tone as Saros takes a video camera from the hands of one of his followers.

"Absolutely. Christmas is the worst day in the entire year," he responds without a hint of doubt, not even looking her way as he checks out the device in his hand. It appears to be a new model.

"But-"

"You aren't having second thoughts, are you?" The villain shoots her a sharp glare, causing the woman to lower her head and rub the back of her neck nervously.

"No, I'm just a little nervous, that's all."

Slightly, his gaze softens. He had nearly forgotten that she isn't a criminal like the rest of them. She's here to support him, but it's clear she's uncomfortable with committing a crime. Saros tilts her chin with his gloved fingers to meet her E/C eyes, giving her a reassuring look and smile.

"We're almost done here. There's nothing to worry about."

She gives a soft sigh in defeat as he pulls away. The camera lifts from Saros' palm with the use of his powers before taking Y/N into his arms again. Her own wrap securely around his neck as he looks towards the horizon, where the sun is just beginning to peek through the massive skyscrapers in the city.

"It's almost showtime, everyone! Get ready!" He orders in a firm voice loud enough for everyone to hear as he rises into the air. Y/N gulps as they get higher and higher, so she hides her face in the crook of his neck with her eyes squeezed shut until they land atop a building with a large screen on the front of it. She is set beside the villain's side before she adjusts her mask anxiously. Knowing her fear of heights, he comforts her.

"You'll be fine, Y/N. Just stay close to my side and look pretty. It'll be over before you know it." He gives the woman a confident smile to put her at ease, causing her cheeks to heat up. Though she's at a safe distance from the ledge, she still didn't want to take chances, so, to be safe, she takes some steps back. This makes his smile falter.

"Y/N." Her gaze lifts to meet his and finds his hand outstretched towards her.

"I will never let you fall again. You can hold onto me if it helps," he offers sincerely. She doesn't hesitate to grab onto him, tightly squeezing his arm like her life depends on it. Her iron grip doesn't faze Saros at all as both look towards the beautiful sunrise to take their minds off the immense height.

"It's so pretty," she mutters under her breath, capturing his attention. His cold gaze turns soft as a warm flutter fills his stomach when he looks down at her.

"Have you never watched a sunrise before?"

"No, not for a very long time." Y/N shakes her head, not tearing her eyes away from the big ball of light in the distance that makes a full appearance from the horizon. A smile twitches into place on the man's lips as he looks at it as well only for for it to disappear moments later. He wanted to admit something personal to her. Now would probably be the best time to do it. It takes him a minute to gain the courage to say it, though.

"Did I ever tell you why I hate this holiday?"

"No." Curious, she looks up at her friend with tired eyes. Oh, how she wanted to wrap herself up in warm blankets and sleep in a cozy cocoon on her bed, but that will have to wait.
