A villain takes with the desire of outsmarting the enemy by any means possible. Saros is no different. He fights the hero, commits evil deeds, and strikes fear into the hearts of all the citizens of Wallowdale, but what he thought to be his nemesis'...

That very next morning, Saros awoke with a warm heart and a wide smile of amusement, without a clue of what time it was, just that it was much earlier than when he'd usually get up. He supposed he could go back to sleep for a little extra rest, but the sight before him was just too rich to tear his eyes off of. Y/N, the dear damsel of our story and victim to the dreadful villain, was having the best sleep of her life beside him. It was all evident by her face alone as drool spilled from the corner of her mouth with a few low snores. He had to bite his inner cheek not to laugh. Though, as funny as it was, he also found her quite cute like this. Usually, she was a quiet sleeper, from what he experienced, at least. Yesterday must've really worn her out, or else her dream had drug her that deep into sleep. Her body was completely relaxed, without worry or care. Those small sounds come to an end as the villain traced a careful finger along the underside of her jaw, shutting her slightly parted lips.
The touch sent goosebumps over his skin as his eyelids drooped tiredly with a quiet yawn. Though they felt so heavy, he kept them open. He didn't want to go back to sleep. He enjoyed watching her be so peaceful beside him. Bit by bit, his mind filled up with memories of last night— More specifically, the words she had told him just before bed about how she was more fond of his company that Herald's. It was hard to believe how this all started— Her, a mere nuisance and pawn in his game, and he, her kidnapper who was ready to toss her life at the flip of the coin just because he could. Most people were expendable that way, at least, in his gaze.
He could've lost out on so much had he not decided to keep her in his room during her captivity. He would've been oblivious to the sweet and tender future he has now. A person in his life he never thought he'd have laid before him, and it was hard not to think it was a dream. He had been brooding in the darkness for so long, never knowing what love and care felt like, but she listened to his woes, his tragic tale and for once, someone didn't look at him in disgust, like he was some inhuman creature. She knew how to make him smile or fluster, and it was always fun to throw it right back at her.
He wondered, to what extent did her feelings towards him go? Sure, they tease and flirt, but how would she feel if he were to outright say he loves her? He knew she had a soft spot for him of some kind. If she didn't, she wouldn't be living here with him or accept his offer of friendship. He knows she didn't do that out of fear. Y/N did not fear him, not as most would, anyway. She knows he is dangerous but never let that get in the way of things. She treated him as she would treat anybody, a luxury he never had the pleasure of experiencing.
