Yesterday was honestly one of the best days of my life. When Hayden and I walked down the stairs, we held hands. I really didn't wanna tell anyone we're official because Annie and Nadia will hate me even more but Hayden just told everyone, without me giving him permission. I left shortly after that because everything got awkward after that.
I read the clock on my phone. It read 3am I guess I couldn't sleep. I went downstairs and got some water, I go on instagram and scroll through my feed.

I couldn't help but feel somewhat sad about this. I didn't like it either. If they hate me, they don't deserve no like. No one has checked in with me since last night. Hayden hasn't texted me once about our relationship since last night, right before I left. I texted him when I got home, saying it was the best night of my life but he didn't respond. I guess he must be busy. As I'm online I swipe to my DM's by accident and see that Johnny is active right now. I decide to text him on instagram because after all, we are still best friends.
KenzieZiegs: Hey John, I saw you were online and decided to text you. I can't sleep, I assume the same goes for you?
Johnny_Orlando: Well actually, there's this party that Nadia had. I had to stay back and help clean up. I am very tired.
KenzieZiegs: Oh. Why would you have a party on a school night?
Johnny_Orlando: Her parents were out of town. People begged her to. Just don't tell her I told you, she didn't want you finding out about the party.
KenzieZiegs: How much longer are you planning on staying there?
JohnnyOrlando: Probably 20 minutes. I just don't wanna go home though.
KenzieZiegs: May I ask Why?
JohnnyOrlando: Can I just please stay at your house? I'll tell you why, in person.
KenzieZiegs: Sure, I'm not sure if anyone's home either.
My mom has been working night shifts lately. She never wants to see my step-dad, Greg. They've been fighting and they're getting a divorce but just not split apart yet. My mom doesn't have that money yet. Greg is kicking us out within a month though. I wonder why Johnny needed a place to crash.
A couple minutes later I get a text, from Johnny. He's letting me know that he's here. Just in case if Maddie is here, he won't disturb her.
Johnny comes in with bloodshot eyes. Not from smoking weed or anything, but from crying. His eyes are red and blotchy, he just looks out of state. Instead of asking him what's wrong, I just hug him. In all the years I've known Johnny, he's never showed this vulnerable side to him. I like that he's showing me this side of him, it means he trusts me.
"Johnny" I start "Come on upstairs, we don't have to talk about it if you don't want to."
We start walking up the stairs, we get to my bedroom and he just lies down, staring at the ceiling fan moving round and round.
I'm just staring at the ceiling also. I really don't know what to say, I just want him to know I love him. After a few moments of silence, he starts talking.
"It's just gotten so bad, Kenz" He manages to say, I hear his voice crack a little bit. My heart aches for him.
"Johnny, what's gotten so bad" I lean to my side so I'm facing him.
"My parents have been arguing none stop" He says, still looking at the ceiling.
"Oh Johnny, I am so sorry." He finally turns to me and we stare into each others eyes. Even in such a hard time like this, he still manages to let out a smile.
I grab his hand as I interlock it with mine. He looks down at our hands, looks back up at me and for one of the first times, I see Johnny Orlando blush. But I probably shouldn't be talking, my cheeks are probably 50 shades of red.
"Johnny?"
"Yes?"
"Can you promise me that no matter how hard our lives get, we will always be friends?"
"Kenz" He starts, leaning in and grabbing me for a hug. "Of course, I will always care for you."
"Johnny, do you want to talk about what has happened between your parents?" I ask him, looking up at him but still not breaking the hug.
"They just fight, none stop." he sighs "They say pretty rude stuff, it's gotten to the point where I just want to move out." I can tell he's starting to get angry, his grip on me is getting tenser and tenser by the second.
"I think we better get some rest." I say as I stand up to go shut off the light.
He gets under the covers, I come and flop on the bed. I get under the covers as well.
When I get in the bed, Johnny scoots closer to me. To the point where his stomach is touching my back, otherwise known as spooning.
He wraps his arms around me and pulls me into his arms. I've never ever felt safer in my entire life. I never wanted it to end. I feel a smile form onto my lips as Johnny says something
"Sleep well, Kenz"
That's the last thing I heard before I drifted off into a well rested sleep.
