she moved out of him, as she swiped to stop the alarm, before getting back into the trunk of the car.
he was confused, and he walked back to the trunk too, and sat beside her, who stared down, with what he thinks is a frown on her face.
"what's the matter?" he asked the girl, as he immediately took another extra blanket and placed it on her, afraid that she might catch a cold if she wasn't covered.
"its the start of another month, and the end of the last month. isn't it time for you to break up with me?" she says, as she still managed to smile at him, although her eyes shows otherwise, her eyes had tears threatening to fall.
"what? how-"
he doesn't know this, and he shouldn't, because she kept it a secret all along, she acted as if she didn't know that he had only asked her out for that one bet.
it all started when yugyeom and jungkook had that conversation where yugyeom had suggested him for a bet, to date her. she was near them and she eavesdropped their conversation. she knew that this relationship was all along just for such a stupid and petty bet, but yet she had still decided to accept him.
don't get her wrong, she didn't like him at that time. she wasn't even in love with him unlike her now. she had no feelings towards him at all. all she wanted was a friend, someone that could keep her company,
she didn't really care if the feelings wasn't sincere and that he didn't actually want to be with her, she just wanted somebody. she thought that that bet was a great opportunity for her, at least he might give her some company even if it was just for a month and that the relationship isn't even real, she didn't mind.
but as days passed by, she started to feel some sparks and butterflies in her stomach she never knew she would feel. she felt her heart pounding so much whenever she sees him or that they would touch.
she felt scared and especially insecure. she tried to make those feelings disappear, where she would never be able to feel these for him anymore, but it was hard. it was easy to get these feelings, but these stubborn feelings just never wanted to disappear even if she had wished on her birthday for them to be gone or wished it upon any shooting stars she had ever went across.
she was desperate, because she knew she would suffer if she had let these feelings stay. it was so unhealthy for her, and she knew it.
those tears rolled down as she silently sobbed, already expecting the phrase she tried to avoid all this while, 'lets break up.' she expected it, but she doesn't know why is she still feeling so devastated, she thought that she was already mentally and physically ready, but guess not.
"no." he said and cupped her face, wiping her tears off her face, "no, i'm not breaking up with you."
"i can't do it."
he admitted loss, he lost. he couldn't afford to win this bet. he couldn't get himself to say those words to her. it would be painful for her, but it might be even more painful for him. he had realised that happiness was the most important; the number one priority.
he found his happiness in the girl, and he couldn't afford to lose his happiness just that.
he lean forward, where his lips was pressed against hers. he felt tears falling down his eyes, and down to his lips, where he tasted the saltiness of it. he lost, but he was happy. he was so happy that she was still right in his embrace, and that he knew that she wouldn't be going anywhere else.
in the end, the boy had chosen love, and had abandoned pride.
