Class began the next day and seemed normal at least for the first period until Sheriff Keller and Weatherbee appeared in the window walking towards the classroom as everyone looked on.

"You're here for me, aren't you? Because of the autopsy?" Cheryl stood up as Weatherbee and Keller came in the room instantly silencing the room. The Lodge's eyebrows scrunched up as he glanced between the two.

"We don't need to do this in front of your classmates, Cheryl" Weatherbee said as everyone looked on.

"It's all right, Principal Weatherbee. They'll find out soon enough." Cheryl said holding out her wrists.

"Now, that won't be necessary" Sheriff Keller said stopping her as she put down her hands before he spoke up, " Wait, Cheryl, find out what?"

"That I'm guilty." She managed to say while avoiding his eyes before being walked out by the sheriff and principal leaving the classroom in whispers before the bell rang. Mateo just sat there wondering what the hell she was talking about. Cheryl wouldn't harm her brother so did she not tell the whole truth? She had mentioned something about him coming back.

As the bell rang, students scattered out the classroom and as he walked outside, Cheryl was being pulled out by her mother and father as they whispered harshly at her. She glanced at him sadly before walking out the doors of Riverdale High leaving the pondering Lodge as everyone's gossip seemed to increase.

The next day, Mateo sat next to Veronica in the student lounge with the others. "So, are you a suspect now?" Veronica asked while chewing on some licorice as he tried to pull one out before having his hand smacked.

"My dad says we all are, including me" Kevin replied while snacking on some candy.

"Not us, girl. We don't know these people." Ronnie replied as he snuck a licorice out. His mind still on the ginger vixen. He was still concerned and wanted to check up on her but it seemed she had been avoiding him as anywhere he went, she fled.

"Guys, should we maybe re-binge Making a Murderer on Netflix tonight?" Kevin asked excitedly before Betty replied, "Sorry. Can't. Gotta stay late to work on the paper."

"Count me out, too. I've got a date tonight." Veronica said grinning as Mateo looked at her curiously. Sure Veronica had her fair share of dates in New York, but she always played hard to get. Surely she would make a boy wait more than 2 days? At least in New York, she did.

"You do? Which Riverdale hottie made the cut?" Kevin asked before they heard, "Hey, Vee-Lo. I'll swing by the Pembrooke to pick you up at 8:00?" He rolled his eyes crossing his arms over his chest as Veronica replied,"I'll be waiting." Vee-Lo? What type of nickname was that? Also Chuck's humor wasn't what Veronica exactly called respectful as he had experienced on his first day of tryouts. Chuck smiled before noticing his glare at him, "Cool" and scurried away.
