omniscient
🥽finn had called josh for a ride from school. he had to stay after for tutoring while all his friends went home. no one was willing to stay with him, either because they were busy or because it was friday and frankly, no one wants to stay after school on a friday.
so finn sat outside on the staircases that lead to the school, awaiting his ride.
he did anything he could think of to pass time. seeing as though his headphones were broke and his phone was close to death.
he tied his shoes various times, seeing how tighter he could make it from the last. he picked at some scabs that anonymously appear on his body. he even tried giving himself a french braid, but his arms became too tired to continue.
sighing, he looked up at the cloudy sky, praying it didn't downpour on his head.
josh's car horn tore him away from his day dream.
fucking finally.
he skidded down the steps in a hurry.
"hey finnlord!" josh greeted, loud and ecstatic.
"hey josh." finn chuckled and put on his seatbelt, knowing josh wouldn't put his foot anywhere near the gas pedal until he did so.
"how was the tutoring? do you understand that bullshit more?"
finn nodded and ran his hand through his hair. "uh yeah. it honestly wasn't even that hard. i should've just looked it up and saved me half of a friday."
josh nodded, dismissing the conversation, not seeing how it could continue interestingly. to fill the silence, he turned up the speakers in his car to play the cd he left in the radio.
finn stares out the window, watching all the stores past by in a blurring manner. but the car slowed down, hitting a stop light, allowing finn to see clearer.
the space between wendy's and the local car shop showcased two familiar faces to finn. so familiar that finns blood seemed to run cold, heart skipping a beat.
"josh." he said timidly.
"yup?" josh looked over at finn, taken aback at the look on finns face. he looked like he'd seen a ghost.
"is that amirah and luca 2 centimeters away from each other?" finn asked warily, pointing to the two figures leaning against each other on the building of wendy's.
josh's eyes were as big as saucers and his eyebrows were shot so far up that it would've been comical if not in this situation.
finn took his silence as an answer and nodded his head.
"take me home."
"but-"
"i said take me home. please."
it had been three days since finn talked to amirah. and during those three days, finn went through three stages.
rage.
that day josh dropped him off home, finn stomped out of the car, not wishing his friend a farewell. once he was in his house, he slammed his door shut, disturbing the modern painting hung on the wall, threw his bookbag across his glossy wooden floor, and let out a guttural shout. it bounced off the walls of his quiet house, most likely disturbing neighbor and people passing nearby.
