♪ Oh, there she goes again.
Every morning it's the same.
You walk on by my house.
I wanna call out your name.
I keep craving, craving. You don't know it, but it's true.
Can't get my mouth to say the words they want to say to you. ♪

"Are you going to talk to us or keep on staring at your phone like that?"
You had hoped that it would be Jungkook or Jimin to speak, but you choked on your spit when Taehyung threw that shady comment at you.
"No need to be so anti-social," he bantered. You looked up from your phone and caught his eye. Obviously, his attitude toward you attested to the old Taehyung that you knew all too well—the one who treated you like his best friend's little sister. But, his eyes looked at you in a completely different way. A softer expression—one that lingered a little longer than it should have.
"I'm not anti-social," you played along. "I was actually texting my best friend. Yeah—I have friends. Hard to believe, I know."
You slipped the phone in your pocket, hoping that your bestie would forgive you should she say something she expected you to respond to quickly.
All four of you were walking together at a relatively similar pace, you and Jungkook taking up the front of the group, and Jimin and Taehyung in the back. Turning around to sass Taehyung felt oddly nostalgic but also oddly foreign to you.
"What were you talking about?" Taehyung prodded. You wanted to throw a rock at the boy for being so nosy. Good thing you were quick-witted, or you may have partaken in the rock throwing.
"Homework. We had an assignment due today in literature class," you scoffed, catching his eye again. After making sure Jimin was not looking in his direction, Taehyung raised his eyebrows at you in a mocking kind of way, knowing he was quickly getting on your nerves.
Rocks needed to be thrown.
"Seriously? An assignment due on the second day of school? Truly hard to believe. I'm on to you, Y/N~," he teased, almost too playfully. You began to worry that your brothers might pick up on it.
You saw a good rock. You were about to grab it but restrained yourself.
"You didn't seem to be doing much work yesterday," Jungkook added. You could not believe it. Even Jungkook did not have your back. You thought about throwing a rock at him instead, not much holding you back from doing so. You reluctantly resorted to glaring in his general direction, and he quickly shut up.
"Point proven. Y/N is keeping secrets."
Taehyung had a smug smile on his face. You wanted nothing more than to wipe that smug look away. You absolutely could not believe him, taunting you like that in front of Jimin. Almost flirting with you in front of Jimin. The thought of Jimin starting to put the pieces together put you slightly on edge. You once again started looking for rocks to throw at Taehyung to shut him up, but you could not find any good ones lying around.
"Seriously, shut up, Tae. Leave her alone," Jimin snapped. It was uncharacteristic of him to treat Taehyung like that, but you assumed because he saw you getting upset that he felt like he had to do something. You hoped he was not getting irritated because he saw what was actually going on between his little sister and his best friend. You hoped for the life of you that Jimin was not quick enough to read through the situation like that. You hoped for once in your life that he was simply being his protective-older-brother self and that there was nothing else to be inferred from the comment.
"It's alright. I'm fine—truly. If you want to speculate, speculate all you want. My truth will be my truth regardless. I'll know who I am regardless of what stupid things you believe about me."
You intentionally emphasized those few words, pulling them from your prior conversation with Taehyung. They were his words exactly. You expected him to get mad, but another cheeky smile engulfed his face. You pouted, having wanted him to get upset. You wanted to egg him on like he had been doing to you—revenge in a twisted kind of way—but your plan had failed. You resorted to your rock plan, scanning the sidewalk for anything and everything throwable.
You wondered what it meant. You wondered if he noticed. What was he so happy about? That you remembered what he said? You weren't sure.
Jimin seemed to cool down quite quickly, starting a different conversation with Taehyung that you could not and did not want to take part in. You and Jungkook began kicking a rock forward as you continued the walk, taking turns skimming the rock against the sidewalk. Things had returned to normal. You were lost in your own world with Jungkook and Tae and Jimin were acting like best friends again. The best part was that Taehyung had stopped his taunting, much to your relief. That did not mean you did not feel his gaze on you as the walk continued. You tried to refrain from turning around to meet his eyes. The four of you finished your walk to school with no more childish banter.
However, as much as you tried to fight it, you and Taehyung still managed to exchange a few particular looks along the way. You ended up turning around as soon as you guys had reached the entrance tof your school—him looking straight into your eyes, raising his eyebrows and winking once more at you.
You had grown past throwing rocks at this point. This boy was driving you so crazy that you were about to find a boulder.
As much as he irritated you, there was still something about the whole interaction that exhilarated you. You wondered if it was supposed to feel that way.
Whatever the case, you felt the way you felt—your eyes being drawn to him and his childish actions, teasing you every chance he got.
You kind of liked it, even though you knew you shouldn't.
