Your best friend had dumped you for Jimin.

Your brother had dumped you for your best friend.

You couldn't help but laugh at the hypocrisy, collapsing to the floor. You couldn't bring your eyes to look at them.

"Y/N! What the hell!"

You would've expected to be Jimin to first yell at you, but it was your best friend instead.

"Y/N!"

She kept yelling your name at you. You could tell that she had moved from her seat on your brother's lap and was now standing in front of your collapsed body, looking down at you.

"You think this is funny?"

You stopped laughing, your brain finally calming. You wiped the tears that reluctantly fell from your eyes.

You heard footsteps coming closer to you. You wanted to look up to see what was happening, but you couldn't move. Only a few tears fell from your cheeks, staining the floor.

You felt a hand on your shoulder.

"Y/N?" the voice was sweeter than the last, concern ridden in its tone.

You mustered the energy to shake the hand off of you, turning your body away.

"Y/N- I-I'm sorry... this isn't w-what it looks like," the voice stammered.

Of course, Jimin would try to act like you were overreacting. He'd try to act sorry. And eventually, you knew he'd try to turn the blame on you as if he did nothing wrong at all.

For months, you thought he was going to absolutely hate you for going after his best friend. For months, you dealt with his aggression, his moodiness, his biting attitude, his everything. You let him ignore you, you let him be moody. You let him treat you like crap and tried to not to be mad about it because you knew that what you were doing was slightly wrong. You were guilty.

You weren't going to say that you did everything right. You were in the wrong. But not everything you did was wrong. And you were just about to make things right.

You should've figured something like this would happen. You felt so stupid to have been this blindsided.

Maybe he did know about you and Taehyung, but it seemed that he surely had a few secrets of his own. Secrets that perhaps he felt guilty about or needed to protect. Secrets that he let boil inside of him, deflecting the anger onto you.

"If it's not what it looks like-" you spat, finally cocking your head up to him. "Then what should it look like?"

He stammered, unable to come up with actual words. He looked toward your best friend who had nothing but a scowl on her face.

"Leave him alone, Y/N. You're no fucking better than he is. At least he wasn't trying to hurt you," she hissed.

"I wasn't trying to hurt him," you tried to clarify, your voice cracking from the pressure in your throat. A few more tears fell.

"Oh, really? You think that using your brother's best friend in some fucked-up revenge plan wasn't intentionally trying to hurt him? You really think that?" she jeered.

You huffed, taking a moment to stand up.

"I'm not going to do this. You are obviously in no position to genuinely hear me out so just continue to screw me over. I'm used to it at this point."

You tried to make your way through the door, but someone grabbed at your wrist.

You turned back to see Jimin's eyes. You saw the worry, the regret, the guilt. But this time, it didn't hurt you to see him like that. This time, you were unphased. You didn't care.
