Throwing your backpack on the ground as soon as you walked into the house, you groaned, making your way down the hallway and to the kitchen. You hoped that some snacks could help to remediate the frustrating day that you had. What had started off on the right foot, quickly fell onto the wrong.
Lunch with your best friend was practically unbearable. Awkward, tense silence as the two of you refused to acknowledge the situation, noise only occurring when one of you would uncomfortably shift on your seat. She would end up leaving early to head to the library to work on some project, which you knew was just some bullshit excuse to get away from you. You finished your lunch, a minuscule, lonesome spec of nothingness in the middle of the mobbed cafeteria.
There wasn't ever all that much to eat in the house because of Jungkook, but you did manage to spot some chips on the counter by the fridge. Making your way over, you noticed that Jungkook, who had just come home from school with you, was also making his way over to the chips. The two of you locked eyes for a split second before simultaneously bolting for the stupid bag of chips.
Of course, he beat you, being much taller and nimbler than you. Smug in his victory, he threw a big handful of chips into his mouth and held the bag too high for you to reach. But still, you were determined, jumping and whining and hitting him, insisting that he give you some damn chips. He was laughing. He had won. Jungkook loved to win and to rub it in.
"You want chips? These chips?" He looked up at the bag of chips that was skimming the ceiling. "I mean, if you can get them, sure, you can have them." He lifted his other arm up into the bag of chips and continued to stuff his face.
At this point, you were practically fuming. You stared him down, fists clenched, waiting for him to break. The standoff had begun.
The chips were still flying high in the air, and he wasn't budging. You screamed in frustration before turning around to stomp away, defeated, but ended up feeling something like a bag of chips whipped against your back.
Of course, some chips went flying due to the childish action, Jungkook laughing at how angry you had become. You charged after him, hitting him incessantly until he had enough and begged for you to stop. You finally complied, walking away and grabbing the remains of the bag of chips. You retreated to your room. Still, you found yourself laughing about the whole ordeal, snickering because you knew Jungkook now had to clean up all the chips he just threw on the floor. You figured that he'd honestly probably eat them anyway, and the thought of that, although it made you sick, also made you laugh a little.
Even though you just wanted some damn chips, you were partially grateful to Jungkook for being the brother he was. He never gave you a hard time over anything more serious than a bag of chips. You wished that it was that simple with Jimin.
You tried to refrain from thinking about the whole Jimin situation but did note that he didn't come directly home from school today. You wondered what he was doing. As your thoughts began to wander, you thought that maybe Jimin had gone to hang out with Taehyung. You worried that he was being as rude to him as he was to you.
Without thinking, you typed a message to Taehyung and hit send.
