You knew why you were comfortable, despite being in an environment so different than what you were used to. It's because Taehyung was there to hold your hand and practically guide you through every step along the way.
The whole walk there, you knew he could tell that you were becoming more and more nervous. You knew his family was fond of your family, but you weren't sure how they'd take to you dating their son. Nonetheless, you were willing to risk it because you knew how happy it would make him if things went well. It seemed like this family was the boy's everything. He brought them up all the time when you guys were talking.
You were almost jealous of the familial relationships he had. You loved your family, but you didn't feel the same level of closeness with all of them as Taehyung did with his. You could arguably say that only you and Jungkook shared a similar bond, but you really had no choice but to. You often thought that you and your twin were practically on the same wavelength.
Your hands were clammy again, so you wiped them on your uniform skirt. Taehyung swiftly reached for your hand in an attempt to calm your nerves. It surely helped.
You made it to the house and, biting back the anxiety you were feeling, walked with Taehyung through the door.
You were greeted by silly, screaming children and barking dogs. You couldn't help but laugh. Taehyung reacted just as you thought he normally would, sweeping his little siblings into a big hug and showering them with kisses. After admiring the huge smile on his face, you couldn't help but smile as well. He wrestled with the little boy for a bit before straitening him out. He then motioned toward you.
"This is my special friend, Y/N. Let's be extra nice to her today, okay?"
They looked you over suspiciously and then turned back to their older brother.
"She's really pretty!" his little sister exclaimed, pointing your way.
Taehyung laughed, looking up at you. "Yeah, she is," he agreed, a smile wide on his cheeks causing your cheeks to flush slightly.
The kids soon ran away, their attention easily diverted when Taehyung reminded them of their favorite toys. He stood, brushing off his pants. He looked around the room for a bit until he found the source of the barking, scooping up the little puppy and subsequently shoving him in your face. You giggled as you got attacked by licks.
You heard footsteps coming from the kitchen. His mother and grandmother came out, aprons on, obviously busy putting dinner together. His mother remarked that it was nice to see you and that she was happy to be making you dinner today. It turned out that she was making your favorite meal. You exchanged some greetings and small talk with his mother and grandmother before they returned to the kitchen to continue meal preparations.
You turned to Taehyung.
"How come you know what all my favorite foods are?" you whispered with an interrogatory tone.
He chuckled.
"Do you know how many dinners I ate at your house? It wasn't that hard to figure out. I'm not actually a butthead. I hope you know that," he joked.
You were happy when the chaos soon died down. It was a very new environment for you as you weren't ever around little children and animals and people you needed to impress all at the same time. You now understood why Taehyung was always coming over to your house; his house seemed a little too wild for guests all the time. That wasn't to say you didn't enjoy your time there. It was surely lovely, and there was lots of laughing. However, it wasn't enough to calm your heightened nerves.
