You awoke from your pleasant night's sleep to the start of a pleasant morning.  You couldn't believe how cute he was being.  And you two weren't anything more than just friends!  You were starting to wonder when that was all going to change.

You didn't want to think you had it all figured out, but you knew the way he was treating you was special.  It didn't seem like just anyone got this kind of special Taehyung treatment.  Or maybe they did... or would.  You may have been the first person to really give him a chance in a long time.

You did your best to straighten yourself up while still looking like you just woke up.  You fixed your messy bun into a slightly less messy bun and threw on some concealer to cover your bags.  You took a selfie, doing your best to cover up the majority of your sleepy face and sent Taehyung the snap, wishing him a good morning as well.

You finished getting dressed and finished up with your makeup.  Sure enough, you had been wearing makeup since that very first day of school.  You were actually getting pretty good at it.  You didn't care what Jimin said.  You didn't do it for boys; you did it for yourself.  It helped you be more confident.

You came down the steps and headed to the kitchen, almost whistling from your morning's high.

"Why so chipper?" you heard your father say from the table.  He hadn't lifted his head from the tablet that he was using to read the newspaper.  He even had his glasses on and they were practically falling off his nose.  You always laughed when you saw him reading like that, but you kept your chuckle inside this time.

"Oh, it's nothing," you lied as you poured yourself a cup of orange juice, taking a tangy sip.

"Ah, nothing? Just woke up on the right side of the bed, I guess?"

"Yeah, something like that," you responded vaguely after taking a few more sips of your drink.  Your father continued to read his e-Newspaper, but would periodically look up at you suspiciously causing you to let out a chuckle here and there.  You finished your orange juice and put the cup in the sink, grabbing a pastry from the fridge.  You always tended to like sweets when you were in a good mood.

"So, nothing new? Really?" he prodded. You couldn't leave him hanging that much in the dark for much longer.  Your father was a smart man.  He probably already had it all figured out all.  He always loved to keep tabs on his kids.  You guessed it was his way of vicariously living his youth again.  You finally caved, deciding to give him some details.

"Well... I have a new friend.  That's all."

Yeah, a new friend.

"Oh!  A new friend! When do I get to meet the gal?" your father chirped, happy that you had finally branched out and made a new friend.  You really hadn't talked to many people other than your best friend over the years, and your parents always worried that you isolated yourself too much.
