The whole night you hadn't once thought about the consequences of your actions. Perhaps that wasn't a bad thing. There was no Jimin, or best friend, or bad reputation in your head trying to skew you away from him. Did they really matter after all? They could tell you that what you were doing was wrong all they wanted. You weren't going to be swayed. At that moment, nothing felt wrong. All the worries that had previously poisoned you simply vanished from your head.
Taehyung had managed to consume your thoughts. Truthfully, he consumed you entirely; you were addicted to him. He was the reason you kept breathing. He had, in such a short amount of time, made you a better, stronger person. You knew wholeheartedly that he was someone that you needed in your life- the closer the better. The effect he had over you scared you in part but also excited you in ways you could've never imagined.
You were never the person to relinquish all control. You kept a cool and collected presence at all times. No one could know that beneath the exterior, you were fragile, bendable, breakable. Without even trying to, Taehyung had managed to take control of the reigns of your heart and your mind. He saw your vulnerability, and he didn't try to break you. He only tried to make you stronger. Something in the universe had surely brought you together at the time you needed it the most. Something must've sprinkled some luck your way as you walked into that photography room. You would never have thought that just three months later your life would have changed so much.
Screw the revenge plan. Screw Jimin. Screw your best friend. Kim Taehyung had your heart and there was nothing that anybody, including yourself, could do to change that.
The whole night, you just knew. He just had to feel the same way. There was absolutely nothing that could plausibly explain his actions other than he felt the same way. Perhaps you plagued his thoughts in the same way he overwhelmed yours.
Heart-pounding out of your chest, a bead of sweat collecting on your forehead, you knew there was no more room for beating around the bush. The words were going to fall out of your mouth whether you liked it or not. Your body craved answers that would drive you closer to him. Your brain was certain that there was nothing to be afraid of. Your mind was made up. You just had to act.
The words falling from your lips, you looked up at him with eyes that warned him. If he made even one wrong move, you were about to fall apart all in front of him.
"What... are we?"
He hadn't been moving, but it seemed like he froze more. His eyes darted toward yours, his expression changing rapidly. There was something behind his stare, a need or an impulse, being repressed. The intensity in the stare was sending chills down your spine.
His hesitation was starting to scare you. He wasn't about to break you, was he? He didn't dare to, not after everything that had happened. It didn't make sense, for that to be the case.
No, you knew. He was going to give you exactly the answer that you needed.
Expression softening, his eyes boring into yours like a key in its keyhole, finding its place exactly where it was meant to be.
You hadn't even noticed his head lean down toward yours. He was so close to you that he could've heard your heart pounding. Your breath hitched. You knew what he was doing.
The moment seemed to be in slow motion like he was lavishing every second of making you wait. Soaking up your expression, every crease to your face, every color to your eye.
You were about to explode. You couldn't wait any longer.
Your eyes shut tight and you crashed your lips into his, almost haphazardly. You pulled away regretfully, wishing you wouldn't have ruined the moment.
