You haven't been able to sleep for a week. You woke Edwin up the first night, regretting it instantly. For the next 6 nights, you laid there deep in thought staring at the ceiling. Tonight, you decided to take a shower at 1 am.
You close the door before turning on the bathroom light. Turning on the water, you strip. Once the water heats up, you get in. You let the water fall down your body. Deep in thought, you don't feel yourself start crying. Once you realize, it's an all too regular feeling. The past few nights have been filled with you silently crying while thinking about you and Edwin's relationship. Over the past month, you two had been growing apart. He had been home less, talking to you less, and sleeping on the couch more. You couldn't lose him. He had been there for you through everything. When your mother died, he showed up at your apartment at 3 am to stay with you. When you had brains surgery, he stayed in the waiting room all night and was by your side when you woke up. You loved him. That's all there was to it.
"Y/N? What are you doing up?" Edwin's voice is raspy.
"Sorry, I forgot to shower earlier." You cut the water off.
Edwin hands you a towel. "Have you been crying?" Edwin grabs the hairbrush.
You shake your head. Edwin pulls the brush through your hair.
"Your eyes are puffy. What's wrong?" Edwin stops brushing your hair.
You turn towards him.
"Baby, I'm worried about us."
Edwin raises his eyebrow. "What are you talking about?"
"You're never home, we've started talking less, and we haven't been sleeping together as much." You turn back to the mirror.
"Y/N You mean the world to me. I don't, can't lose you. Why didn't you tell me about this?" He turned you back.
"Because I thought it was sleep deprivation talking." You grip the counter top.
"You haven't been sleeping?" Edwin grows concerned.
"No I haven't. For a week now. You not sleeping with me isn't helping." You snap at him.
"And why didn't you tell me?"
"Because Edwin! You haven't been talking to me! I also hate waking you up, you make me feel like it wasn't necessary! God Edwin!" You smack the counter.
"Well damn Y/N! What else have I done?!" He yells back.
Something comes over you causing you to break down and curl into a ball in the corner. Edwin rushes to your side.
"Shit. I'm sorry Y/N." He holds you.
You constantly fight him, trying to get out of his arms. He wouldn't let go. You thrash your arms but there's no use. You run out of energy. You curl up in a ball in his arms. Edwin starts rambling on about how much he loves you until you can't stay awake anymore.
It felt good being in his arms again.
