Nick ~ Distance

Nick had been gone on a trip to Greece for a few weeks now. The first two weeks, he would text you and FaceTime you every chance he got. Then, the FaceTime calls slowly stopped. Texting each other constantly slowly came to a stop. Your conversations had been reduced to good mornings, goodnights, and very little small talk.

Eventually, you had given up all hope on anything changing. You decided to ignore him. It took everything in you to do so. When you saw a picture on Instagram of Nick and a random girl cuddled up on the beach, ignoring him became easy.

About the third day of this, Nick started talking to you more. You still wouldn't respond. You would ignore FaceTime calls and texts from him daily. Only periodically texting him goodnight or something like that.

One day you were with Austin and Zion when Nick called.

"Y/N, why is there so many missed calls from Nick?" Austin glances down at your phone.

You don't respond. Zion picks up your phone.

"And texts, calls, dms." He scrolls.

You snatch your phone. "That's my business thank you."

"Y/N." Austin says.

Both boys stare hard at you. You finally crack.

"We just kinda fell off. Then I saw him on Instagram cuddling up with some random girl on the beach and I just stopped talking to him all together!" You yell.

Your phone starts buzzing again.

"Answer it. Talk to him." Zion motions to your phone.

You glance over at Austin. He nods in agreement. You groan before hitting the accept button and walking upstairs.

"Baby! What happened?" Nick sounds frantic.

"Nothing." You state.

"Then why are you ignoring me?"

"Nick I saw those pictures with that girl. You looked happy with her. She was beautiful." You look at the pictures of you and Nick on the wall. "Just go ahead and get it over with Nick. I'm so emotionally exhausted at this point."

Nick starts to sniff. "Y/N, I love you so much. No one is as beautiful as you are or special. That's why I can't lie to you. Yes, I cheated with her."

You stare at the wall. Your bottom lip finds it's way between your teeth as you start to shake your head.

"You know, I think it's funny actually. I let you go to Greece trusting you to go by yourself even though you asked me to go. Then, you go and cheat on me. While I'm sitting in another country counting down the days until I'm in your arms again. It's cool though, bye Nick." You hang up.

Collapsing on your shared bed, you start crying.

"Y/N, what happened?" Zion slowly walks in.

"He cheated." You turn your body away from him.

You feel the bed sink. Zion's arms pull you into his chest.

"I'm sorry Y/N. "

"You didn't do anything."

You two stay like this for a while. Eventually, you sit up placing you and Zion's faces inches apart. Suddenly, your lips make contact.

"I, uh-" Zion rubs the back of his neck.

"I should probably go start dinner." You quickly get up.

"Yeah I should probably go finish my show." Zion follows you out.

In the hallway, you two take one last look at each other before going separate ways.
