A/N: This story happened before Alija and Bård met again. This is from the past. I will tell you if we're back to the present but for this chapter and for the succeeding ones, it will be from the past.
In the forest where everything seemed to be normal, mystical creatures hide from the eyes of the humans. They are invisible to the human eye but they can see everyone. Some are lurking in the shadows, some are hiding in trees, some are swaying in branches, while some are floating mid air.
One of these mystical creatures are Fox gods/goddesses. Their kind are scattered throughout the forests of the world to protect the wildlife and the spirit of nature. They are beautiful creatures with human appearance but they have nine fox tails on their backs. They are like humans with the ability and power of a fox. They have sharp hearing and smell, they can see far places with no difficulty, and they are fast and strong. Each Fox god/goddess have a bead that gives them eternal life. They were born to float around and protect the forest for the rest of their lives. If the bead is removed from them, they will die.
Everyone was true to their purpose but one doesn't want to guard the forest anymore. She's a Reve Gudinne (Fox Goddess). She was born three hundred years ago in one of the forests of Norway. She often see hikers and campers while floating mid air. She suddenly felt that she wanted to be like them. She want to feel, talk, and eat. When she shared her desire to their maker, she was prohibited to turn into a
human. She was able to suppress her desire for the last 300 years but one thing happened, and she took it as her chance to become what she wanted.
**********
The Fox song broke the silence of the forest. Bård, Vegard, the director, and the crew were taping for the music video of their new song. It's 1:00 but they're still taping the last scene of the day. It was the 'how will you speak to that horse' scene. When they ended taping the scene, the team started packing.
"You going home directly?" Vegard asked Bård. Bård did not reply. He's thinking about something.
"Hey!" Vegard said. Bård was still lost in thought. Vegard shook his head and let out a sigh.
"You ok?" Vegard asked while he tapped Bård's shoulders.
"What?" Bård asked. He's a bit disoriented and not focused.
"You ok?" Vegard repeated his question.
"Yeah. Just tired." Bård lied. Vegard also knew that it was a lie. It's been two weeks since Alija left Bård and he's having troubles moving on.
"You going home?' Vegard asked again.
"Yeah. Later." Bård replied.
"Ok. I'll just go first. Are you sure you're ok?" Vegard asked again.
"Yeah." Bård replied without showing no emotions at all. Vegard turned around and grabbed his bag. He motioned towards his car and when he's about to open the door, Bård called from behind him.
"Vegard!"
Vegard looked back to Bård.
Bård stared at his brother for a moment. It looked like he has something to tell him.
"Nothing. Be safe." Bård said.
Vegard found it odd. It was usually his line.
"Ok." Vegard said awkwardly and then continued to his car and drove away. Bård, together with the staff and crew was left in the forest.
After Vegard left, Bård looked around him. Everyone was busy. He stood up from his chair and walked away from the shooting site. He can hear the noise fade as he walked into the depths of the forest alone. Nobody noticed that he was gone. It was dark and cold inside the forest but he just continued walking until he reached a dead end. It was a steep cliff with a raging river several hundred feet below. This is not the way he wanted to end his life but it doesn't matter anymore. It will end tonight. The pain will end tonight.
He felt the cold air brush his face. He closed his eyes and inhaled the fresh breeze of the forest. Before, he thought of suicide as a lousy thing. He used to say before that he will never commit suicide no matter how big his problems are. But its different when you're in the situation. You feel like it's the only thing left to make everything ok.
"Why?" he asked himself. "Why do you have to leave me?"
He took a deep breath and braced himself for the jump that will end his suffering, his life.
"I'm sorry." Bård said his last words and took a step towards the cliff. He closed his eyes and continued taking steps. Then he reached the edge and when he took another step he felt his body dropped from the ground his standing just a second ago. He closed his eyes as he was falling to his end.
A/N: I don't mean any harm to anyone especially to Ylvis. I just made this up and this is not real. PLEASE DO NOT commit suicide. If you have problems please talk to someone and do not end your life. Every person's life is precious, please do not end it.
Thank you for reading this chapter :)
The "Fox Goddess/Reve Gudinne" in this story is the counterpart of the "Gumiho" from a Korean legend. The Gumiho and the Reve Gudinne have similarities with each other but they also have dissimilarities as I gave the Reve Gudinne some different characteristics and story from the Gumiho from the legend. I chose to follow my own story line rather than following the legend completely.
I would also like to thank @cupminie for translating Fox Goddess in Norwegian for me :)
Tusen takk!
