CHAPTER 13- Acceptance

Vegard threw a confused look at Bård as well as Calle. The band wondered what happened as their music stopped being in sync. It was the first time that happened, Bård failing his improv song. Before anyone could process what happened to Bård, he had already gone off the stage to rescue Reve. Nobody seemed to notice but Bård saw when Reve fell on the floor. She fainted.

"Reve. Hey." he said while putting Reve's head on his lap. He could feel her abnormally hot body. He shook her but she's not responding. The medical team on standby moved towards Reve and helped Bård and they took her backstage.

"I'm sorry guys. There's just an emergency and it's now taken care off. No worries, just sit there and we'll continue the show after 5 minutes." Vegard announced to the audience. Good thing they're not live, Vegard thought.

The show continued while Reve was on the backstage taken care by the medical people. The taping finally ended and without even changing his clothes, Bård went to check on Reve directly.

"What happened to her?" Bård asked the medical staff.

"She's okay. She just caught a fever. She'll be okay." the medical staff said.

"Okay." Bård replied.

He approached Reve who was lying on the couch.

"Hey." Bård said as he shook Reve gently.

"Bård?" Reve managed to reply.

"Yes, can you stand? Let's go home so you can rest." Bård said.

"Okay." Reve replied as he sat up.

"Wait. I'll get my things." Bård stopped her from standing and dashed into his office. On his way to his office, Vegard saw him.

"Hey how's Reve?" Vegard asked.

"She got a fever. We're going home now." Bård said without even paying attention to Vegard.

"Are you not changing?" Vegard asked as he noticed that Bård was still wearing his clothes from the show.

Bård just seemed to realize that.

"Um, I'll just change at home." he said and went inside his office, took his things and went back to Reve.

"I'm going home. Bye." Bård said to Vegard when he passed his office.

"Bye." Vegard replied with a smile. Maybe there's a chance for this two, he thought.

Reve was still sitting on the couch when Bård returned.

"Here, wear this. It's cold outside." Bård said as he gave his jacket to Reve.

"How about you?" Reve asked.

"I'm okay. Can you stand?"

"I guess so." Reve said as he stood up. Bård wrapped his arms around Reve and supported her.

"Come on." Bård said.

They went inside Bård's car and went home. Bård walked Reve towards her room and helped her go to bed.

Bård noticed that Reve is shivering so he tucked her blanket up just below her chin.

"We need to get you winter clothes." Bård said.

"I never felt cold before." Reve said weakly.

"Maybe because you're closer to being a full human that's why you're feeling what a normal human feels. Plus, you got yourself soaking wet from the rain this morning, so this is just a normal human thing." Bård replied.

"I only have five tails now." Reve said.

"Great. Now have rest and get well." Bård said and was about to move outside when Reve said something.
