The capitol was never your favorite place to be, it smelt like shit for one, and everyone was constantly lying. You couldn't stand lying, and you always knew when someone was, people called it a talent when really it was more of a curse.

Your father loved you dearly for it, having to sit beside him at all of his meetings and help find a man who would truly treat you older and younger sisters fairly. However, this time it was your turn.

Whenever you went to Kingslanding it was to find someone to marry one of your siblings to. But you were the last one.

"It's about time you were married off, people have begun to wonder if you are baron since the younger girls were wed before you."

"But father-," you started, only for him to cut you off.

"You will find a husband and he will use your gift. Go wander around the castle, perhaps you will meet someone instead of putting me through all of these meetings with so many Lords," he commands, dismissing you from his chambers.

You slam the door behind you, walking down the hallway and feeling ready to yell at the next person who stumbles upon you. You end up in the gardens, sitting in a chair on a balcony overlooking the water.

"My Lady, what are you doing out here on your own?" You look over to the voice to see Petyr Baelish standing near the entrance of the courtyard, a small grin plastered on his face.

"Lord Baelish, it is so good to see you," you say standing up and walking over to him, giving him a hug. He wraps his arms around you, pulling you tightly to him.

"It has been too long Y/N. When did you arrive?" He pulls away from you and you both sit down.

"Just this morning, my Lord. Father has decided that it is time I marry."

"I heard that he was looking for someone for one of his daughters. I didn't realize it was you."

"Well, it is. And I am not allowed to help. If I meet someone about the castle he still has to talk to my father first." You sigh and look down at your hands on your lap.

"y/N, it will be okay. I will help, make sure you wed a decent man who will treat you well. I will send many good men to your father."

"That would be most kind of you, but I fear that it will not help. There is only one person who I know will treat me fairly but my father will not approve." You feel your cheeks redden as you glance up at him, hoping he may get the hint.

"Why would he not approve?" You sigh, standing up and leaning against the rail. He comes over and joins you, putting his hand on the small of your back.

"The man I am thinking of works in a rather.... displeasing field according to my father. But I have loved this man for years."

"Who is he?" Petyr asks, tensing up next to you. You look over at him staring into his eyes as you move your head closer to his. He leans more towards you, and slowly your lips meet.

It is not a passionate, lust filled kiss, bit more one full of meaning. He is trying to tell you how he feels and you are trying to tell how you feel about him with no words. You break away from him suddenly, spinning on your heels.

"I should go, it is nearing dinner" You start walking away, only to feel his grip on your arm suddenly, pulling you to a stop.

"Y/N, what is wrong? Did you not want the kiss? I apologize if I offended you." You slap him, making him stumble back a step by the suddenness of it.

"Don't ever apologize for kissing me Petyr," you exclaim angrily. "I have loved you for so long and tried to tell with so many hints throughout the years, yet you never did anything! And then you kiss me and apologize for it! Do you have any idea how insulting that is? And you get my hopes up after I tell you that my father will be the one picking who I wed. Just let me go Petyr."  By this point, you are sobbing and turn away from him quickly. You start running to your chambers, leaving him staring at you with sadness in his eyes.

*Time Skip*

"Y/N, I have found the perfect match for you," your father calls out after barging into your chambers while you are still half asleep. It's been almost two weeks since you kissed Petyr, and you have avoided him at all costs. Of course, that means that really the only place you could be where he would leave you alone was your chambers, so your father has been angry at you for 'sulking about'.

"Father, couldn't this wait until breakfast?"

"No, he has asked to eat with us, so you can meet before the wedding tomorrow. Pick an amazing gown, maybe yellow, you look good in yellow."

"Tomorrow? Why is the wedding tomorrow?"

"He insisted that he wanted it to be as soon as possible. Your lady maide is waiting. Be in my chambers in two hours." He leaves your chambers, almost skipping with glee by the looks of it. You flop back onto your bed with a sigh.

*Outside his chambers*

Do I really have to do this, you can't help but thinking as you pace outside your fathers' chambers. Would it really matter if I just grabbed a horse and rode off to another city, maybe one across the sea? Of course, you know how terrible that would make your father feel, and then you would feel so guilty for the rest of your life. With a sigh, you gently knock on the door, hearing your father call you to come in.

You close the door behind you and slowly make your way to the table that has been set up, looking down the whole time. You can't help it, you just feel so embarrassed and sad about this whole thing.

"This is my daughter, Lady Y/N," you father introduces you, gently nudging you with his elbow. "Y/N, this is your soon-to-be husband, Lord Petyr Baelish." Your head snaps up and you stare in shock at them, looking between the both of them. Petyr takes your hand and kisses the back of it with a smirk on his face as you just stare at him.

"It is a pleasure, my lady," he says, still grinning at you.

"The pleasure is all mine," you reply softly, glancing at your father as you do so. Petyr pulls out your chair for you and sit, still mostly in shock.

"Y/N, I suppose you know what Petyr does?" You nod your head feebly. "But, he is now the lord of Harrenhall, which makes him a suitable match for you."

"Father, I am not actually that hungry. Do you think that Lord Baelish and I could have a few minutes alone, to really get to know each other?" You smile sweetly at your father.

"I suppose that would be alright," he replies, looking a little surprised but smiling slightly. He stands and leaves the two of you alone.

"What the fuck Petyr," you whisper-yell, knowing that your father is most likely listening in outside the door.

"Y/N, you told me quite clearly that if I wanted to kiss you again, I couldn't lead you on." He puts his hand on top of yours and leans in close to you. "And I really want to kiss you again." He grabs the back of your head gently and pulls you to him, connecting your lips. You start to kiss him back before realizing how angry you are.

"No," you say louder than you meant to after pulling away from him. "You don't get to just walk around and kiss me and expect it all to just go away!"

"What are you talking about? Make what go away? I am going to be your husband tomorrow, so yes I can just walk around and kiss you all I want." You stand from the table and start walking around the chambers. "And I did promise you that I would find you a decent husband, didn't I?" You nod slowly, remembering him telling you that. He comes over and grabs your shoulders, making you stop walking and look at him.

"Why though?"

"Because I love you, and I really could not stand you marrying some other man and fucking him and having children with him." You put your hands on his arms, smiling a little at him. Because of your little talent, you know he is not lying to you.

"I don't think I could see you with another woman either," you say softly.

He leans down and kisses you, and you know that you will have a very happy life with the man you love.
