Going to Dorne is supposed to keep you safe, or at least that is what your grandmother said. Your twin sister was on her way to Kingslanding, hoping to marry King Joffery, and your grandmother had decided that if you were wed to a man far away you would be safe.

But being sent to marry Oberyn Martell was not what you would call safe. It was well know that people in Dorne weren't always faithful to each other when married but it was accepted throughout the city as normal. Martell himself was with a woman and you believed even had children with this woman.

Not to mention the fact that he was so much older than you. His children were your age, or so it was rumored, and he seemed to be very much in love with this other woman. Yet you were still sent to wed him, without your family, and were expected to give him an heir.

The shouting of the crew on the deck of the ship brings you out of the little trance you were in and you slowly walk up to the deck. Your first day on the ship you had basically puked the whole day, very angry that you couldn't have just ridden on horseback. The second day you were on the deck just looking out at the water and reading, with much less puking. And as you continued to travel you began to love the feeling of the boat rocking side to side.

But today when you got up to the deck, the view was of Dorne, and the crew were frantic, wanting to make the ship presentable for him and the landing as smooth as possible. You could just see the docks and a group of people gathered on them, but mostly just all of the ships.

*Time skip to when ship has landed*

You take a deep breath, already dreading this. You really don't want to be here, let alone live here for the rest of your life. But you get off the ship with help of the crew and see a large crowd of girls all laughing and smiling and pushing each other around. When they notice you watching them they stop and look at you, all with smiles on their faces. Out of the middle of them, a man steps out, a very handsome man with tan skin and black, and dressed in a lot of red.

"Y/n Tyrell, I presume," he says, his voice a very thick Dornish accent, as he grabs your hand and leans down to kiss the top of it.

"Prince Oberyn, I presume," you reply, plastering a fake smile on your face.

"And you would be presuming correctly." He smirks at you, trying to read behind the mask you put up to hide your emotions. "Let me introduce you to my sand snakes. These are my daughters Obara, Nymeria, Tyene, Sarella, Elia, Obella, Dora, and Loreza. And this is their mother, Ellaria."

"It is a pleasure to meet you all." They all smile and wave at you as you just smile your fake smile, freaking out on the inside.

"I'm sure she must be exhausted from her journey, so you can all get to each other later," Oberyn says, placing his hand on the small of your back. "I'm going to show her to her chambers." They all smile at you as he leads you past and you can't help but feel somewhat sorry for them, seeing their parents relationship change suddenly because their father is actually marrying someone, and it's not their mother.

"It's very kind of you to take me to my chambers," you say as you walk, trying to get some sort of conversation going.

"Of course, you to be my wife, it's the least I could do."

"Really the least you could do was have a maid take me to my chambers and not see me at all until the wedding, so I suppose you are going above and beyond what many men would do."

"Many men are not me. Their can only be one red viper."

"Red Viper yes, but Oberyn Martell, no. I suppose that you will want to call your heir by your name."

"Getting into these matters quickly I see. A son needs his own name, not one of his father. Here we are at your chambers." He opens a door and you step into the room. Everywhere you look there is red and gold, the bed, a table, even all the little things around the room. But the part that takes your breath away is the view. One wall of your room, which doesn't even have a wall, leads out to the balcony, with an amazing view of the city and the sea beyond.

"This is amazing," you say from the middle of the room, circling around and trying to take it all in.

"I will tell the girls. They picked out everything, even the room itself."

"But won't I just be leaving it soon? After we are wed?"

"We can take some time with that. Dorne is very different with things like that."

"I'm aware of that. And assuming that you will still be having sex with Ellaria?" He looks down at his feet quickly then back up, trying to hide the grin on his face.

"We will talk about things like that later." You just nod your head, still looking around your new chambers. It's possible that you might enjoy it here a little bit more than you thought, you finally admit to yourself.
