Working for the mother of dragons had a few challenges.
Of course, there were the dragons themselves. They were very sweet when they wanted to be, yet quiet intimidating at others. Their moods seemed to match their mothers most of the time so you always knew when to avoid them if possible.
The other challenge would be seeing Jorah Mormont all the time. You have always felt this strange force drawing you to him. You have never told him about it although he is always talking to you when he can, you feel that anything you act upon would betray your Khaleesi.
"Y/n, have you ever thought of wedding someone," she asks you this morning as she is braiding your hair. You feel your cheeks reddening slightly at the question.
"I have, your grace. But I am serving you so there is no need for a husband."
"What do you mean," she inquires. "You can still wed someone while you are in my service." She finishes the braid in your hair then comes to stand before you. "I am going to find you a husband today, and you shall wed tomorrow."
"Khaleesi, there is no need for me to wed anyone. A husband would mean that I will spend less time with you." She begins to pace in front of you.
"That is true. Unless I find someone that is also around me all the time."
"That would only be few men. Your grace, you do have to meet with the people soon," you remind her.
"Yes, yes, I know. Let us walk their now." You walk side by side to the throne room and stand a little behind her as she takes her seat. Jorah is standing beside you soon, and you see the Khaleesi glancing back at the two of you.
"How are you today," he asks you quietly, leaning in closer to you.
"I am well, thank you," you reply, a blush creeping up to your cheeks because of how close he is to you. "The Khaleesi is determined to find a husband for me today." You see him tense up out of the corner of your eye.
"Does she know who yet?"
"No. She wanted to find someone that she is around all the time so that I can still be close to her most of the time."
"That is very smart of her." You look up his face as the townsperson leaves the room. He seems almost hesitant to look at you, almost like he is shy, which can't be true because he is one of the bravest men you know.
"She wants the wedding ceremony to be tomorrow." He looks down at you again, he being quite taller than you.
"That is very soon." You nod your head in response. You don't talk much for the rest of the time, and you notice that he seems to be deep in thought.
"That will be all for the day," the Khaleesi says, standing up and gesturing for the two of you to join her. "Ser Mormont, did y/n tell you that I am looking for a husband for her?"
"She did inform me of that."
"Who do you recommend? I need someone close to me, who I am around often, and someone who we know will treat her well."
"Khaleesi, perhaps I shouldn't wed anyone," you suggest softly. "Finding someone like that could take quit a while."
"I already know who you will be marrying tomorrow, I just want to see if Jorah comes to the same conclusion." Jorah is silent for a while, and the awkward silence of the room is making you feel rather uncomfortable. "Do you really have no suggestions," the Khaleesi finally says.
"I have one idea, your grace, but I don't know if I should believe it or not."
"Well, say it then. We have been waiting rather patiently for you." He glances at you before he continues.
"Me." Your eyes widen when you hear him say that and you look at him with shock on his face.
"Just what I was thinking! You shall be wed tomorrow evening, I will take care of all of the plans. Y/n, you can have the next two days off starting now. You are both dismissed." She turns around and leaves the two of you alone.
You stand next to Jorah, not knowing what you should do. You somewhat feel like you should look at him, but you also don't want to see what his face looks like incase he is mad or sad. You haven't liked Jorah for that long, at least not this way, and now you are going to have to marry him.
"Well," he says awkwardly, clearing his throat suddenly and dragging you out of your thoughts.
"I suppose I will see you tomorrow then," you say, still not daring to look at him as you start to walk away. He grabs your arm in a tight grip and turns you around. You try to pull your arm out of his grip but it only tightens as he begins pulling you into an empty hall. "What are you doing?"
"I think we should practice," he replies, putting his hand on your face and forcing him to look at you.
"Practice what?" you manage to say, gasping it out. Your skin tingles where he is touching you, and you lean into his hand.
Suddenly his lips are on yours, his hand on your waist. After the initial shock you feel, you begin kissing him back and wrap your arms around his neck, beginning to play with his hair. He pulls you closer to him and deepens the kiss, which you didn't even know was possible, before pulling away and resting his head on yours.
"Oh," is all you manage to say, very out of breath.
"I will see you tomorrow," he says, a small smile on his face as he pulls away from you and walks away. You sink down the wall and softly touch your lips, enjoying the lingering tingling feeling on them.
