AN- I've been working on this one for a bit, but then all my motivation for it left me. Let me know if you want a part two or if you have any requests!

-------

Stepping out of the carriage, you take a deep breath, your lungs filling with the cold air of Winterfell. A smile graces your lips as you look around. Winterfell was basically your home once, before the death of Ned Stark and the ensuing chaos. You hadn't seen Winterfell in many years, your father thinking it best that you stay at your family home.

You suppose it was best, who knew what would have happened to you had you stayed. But you could never shake the feeling that you should have stayed, that maybe if you had stayed you could have helped Bran and little Rickon.

"Lady Y/n, it has been to long," a voice says, bringing your attention to the people near you.

"Lady Stark." You tip your head in greeting to Sansa. "It has been much to long. Although, given the circumstances I suppose it couldn't be helped." She smiles politely at you.

"It is a pleasure to see you again, my lady." Job Snow looks exactly the same but completely different at the same time. His features are the same, his clothes are the same, but it is obvious he's a grown man now.

"My king. I can not believe how far you have come Jon Snow. The bastard who joined the nights watch, to commander of the nights to watch, to the king in the north."

"I can't believe it myself sometimes," he jokes, grinning at you. "Come inside, a gathering is going to start soon if you would like to sit in."

"I believe I have to. My father said he has some news for me and since he's not here to greet me, I assume I will find him there."

"He has been to all of them," Sansa says, sounding somewhat annoyed. "He is very opinionated."

"I know, I've lived with him for years. If he thinks he knows best he will never stop."

—————

"Father, how nice to see after all these months." You had found your father sitting in the front row, with a spot next to him saved for you.

"I knew you would be in good hands, you were once close with the Starks. And it is much more important that we be in the front." You sigh, reminding yourself to stay calm. After not having to deal with him for months, you were already done with him.

You don't pay much attention to what is being said as different lords stand up and talk to Sansa and Jon. At least, you're not paying attention until your father is called and asked to stand in front of everyone.

"My king, I have something that I would wish to propose to you." Jon clears his throat, glancing at you.

"Of course. Go ahead."

"Lately the north has not been able to keep a ruler. With your father and brothers passing, everything with the Boltons, it has not been good for the north. Many of us have agreed that we would feel more comforted if we knew that there was the possibility of an heir coming."

Your heart starts beating faster in your chest, feeling as if it will explode. Your hands begin to get sweaty so you wipe them on your skirts. You should have known why he wanted you to come here, it should have been obvious to you.

"And who do you propose my brother wed to produce an heir with," Sansa asks since Jon is just staring at your father.

"My own daughter. You have been friends since childhood,  she is basically a family member already." Everyone begins to murmur, only to be silenced as Jon stands up, slamming his hand down onto the table.

"You all declares me king, I didn't ask for it."

"You didn't, but you are our king," your father replies. "And now we ask that you take a wife, as all king's must do."  Jon looks at you and you look down at your lap.

"I will only take a wife if the woman is willing to be not only my wife, but the queen of the North." You can feel everyone's eyes on you as they turn to see your response. You take a deep breath before looking up.

"I will do what is needed for the North."

--------

"Are you sure about this," you ask Jon as the two of you walk swiftly down the halls towards the waiting horses in the courtyard. "The chances of this going badly are much higher than it going well."

"I know. But it is a chance that we have to risk. We need the dragon glass and she is sitting on top of all of it."

"Are you sure I can't come with?"

"It will be safer for you here." He stops suddenly, grabbing your wrist to bring you to a stop as well. He reaches up and gently cups your face before connecting his lips to yours. When he pulls away, he rests his forehead on yours, wrapping his arms around your waist.

"That just makes me want to come with you more." He chuckles and you grin. "Promise me that you will be safe. Do what you need to do to keep us safe, but keep yourself safe as well."

"I'll do my best. I will come back to you, that I can promise. And then we shall be we shall be wed."

"Sounds like a deal to me."
