A/N: I am so sorry for the lack of updates! I was hoping that being on winter break would help me update more, but I had no inspiration at all. But I promise to update soon!
Also, requests are still open, so please feel free to request a person and a scenario or even just a certain person!
------
Being from house Tyrell, you knew that one day you would be forced to marry a man of your parents choosing. But you didn't expect that person to be the red viper himself, Oberyn Martell.
You had heard rumours from far and wide about all of his daughters, and their stunning mother who he still laid with. People talked of how handsome he was as well, but almost everything you heard about him involved him sleeping with someone, or someones. You couldn't lie and say that it didn't bother you because it did. You weren't a maiden, you had lost your virginity a few years ago to a man that you were married to for a mere few days before he was killed in battle, but the mere thought of sleeping with a man so experinced worried you.
The whole way to Dorne you just felt sick to your stomach, and it wasn't just the sea sickness. You didn't want to be forced into another marraige, and you thought your father had understood that, yet as soon as your grandmother started making small remarks everything changed. The oldest Tyrell had a way with words, that could not be denied.
As soon as you took a step onto the docks you were attacked by a group of girls, most being around your age. They were all talking very fast, looking you over, as they introduced themselves and started complimenting you. You tried to take a step back to get away from them, you never liked huge crowds, but felt your heel on the edge of the dock.
"Now girls, why don't you give your soon to be step-mother some space." They all giggle softly as they back away from you, and you see him for the first time. He is tall and tan, are the first two things you notice. You can tell from the way he stands that he has a cocky attitude and you already know that you will have a hard time being around him if he keeps that up.
"You are Prince Oberyn, I presume?" You say it like a question but mean it as a statement. He walks over to you, grabbing your hand kissing the back of it gently.
"I am. And I must say, I have heard of your beauty but words do not truly describe your beauty." You smile kindly as you were taught to do.
"That is very kind of you to say, my Prince. You are too kind."
"I fear I am not kind enough, my Lady. But let me introduce you to my daughters. This is Obara, Nymeria, Elia, Tyene, Sarella, Dorea, Obella, and Loreza." He gestures at each of them as he says their names. You do your best to play your part as the shy and scared highborn lady, but it is seeming to be very difficult.
"It is a pleasure to meet you all." They all smile kindly at you, and you can't help but find yourself admiring how beautiful they all are. You really don't know how you will be able to compare to their mother. Oberyn turns to you once again, a grin on your face.
"You must be tired from your long journey. Let me walk you to the palace and your chambers."
"Of course, my Prince. It was a very tiring journey." He holds out his arm for you to take and you put your hand in the crook of his arm.
"I expect you all at the feast later tonight," he calls to his daughters, before leading you away.
--------
"I imagen that this is going to be a large adjustment for you, my Lady." Once you had gotten to the palace, he had started to lead you to your temporary chambers before saying that he really wanted to show you the gardens. You weren't sure if you wanted to, but now that you were here you were very happy. The bright colors were everywhere, and their were flowers that you hadn't ever seen or heard of before.
"I'm sure it will be. But this garden may help a bit. I am so used to the gardens in Highgarden but hopefully this will be a good substitute."
"I'm glad you like it. Now, I believe this would be a good time to discuss business matters."
"I suppose now is as good a time as any." You sit down on a bench that overlooks the city below.
"As you know, I already have my eight daughters, although they are not my heirs."
"Which means that we must produce at least one heir."
"Yes. I am sure you have heard the rumors of my personal activities?"
"I have. And I must say there are a lot."
"I'm sure there are. But once we are married I do not intend to sleep with others. I think you should know that." You look at him with shock and surprise. With his reputation, you are surprised that he would even be willing to do that.
"My Prince, that is very kind of you. But what about the mother of your children?"
"Ah, yes, well..." He looks away from and out at the city. "She got a strange illness recently and passed away."
"I'm sorry," you say, putting your hand on his arm in what you hope is a genuine way. "I lost my first husband a few years ago. I know it's probably not the same at all since I didn't know him well and you had known her for years, but I do have somewhat of an idea of what you are going through."
"I didn't realize that you were married before." You shrug and look down at the city that is now your home.
"It wasn't very long. We were married for a few months, most of them with him in a war."
"Well, I hope that doesn't happen with us." You look over at him and see him looking at you. You smile a genuine smile.
"I hope that as well."
