You had never planned to wed, you just never imagined that as your future. Being part of house Tarth didn't mean the same things that being part of any other house meant, at least with your father. You were expected to wed at some point, but you never thought that your father would force you to marry someone, let alone Tywin Lannister.
You had been wed for a little less than a year now and living in Casterly Rock. Your new home wasn't all bad, mostly it was just dark and lonely. The whole place was made of stone, and you would admit that it was very intimidating on the outside, but it made the inside just so dark.
You hadn't seen you new "children" much, which was really a gift. At the wedding, Cersi never seemed to stop glaring at you. Jaime and Tyrion were much kinder, knowing that you really didn't want this. Who would want to marry a man that had children older than you?
Tywin wasn't actually around much. It should have made things easier, but it seemed quite the opposite. For one, all the men kept eying you and trying to get you to cheat on your husband because they saw he wasn't around much. The only time Tywin was really around was when he wanted to fuck you. You had shared chambers, of course, but unless he wanted sex, he usually came when to the room after you were asleep. Unless in was for duties pertaining to Casterly Rock, you didn't see him throughout the day either.
It was also just so lonely, and you were at your breaking point. You couldn't even remember the last time you had a true conversation, one that didn't have anything to do with being Lady of Casterly Rock.
But today you decided to act on your frustration, something that you had been denying yourself. Today was one of the days when Tywin would come to your chambers early for sex. You really didn't want this any more though, so you just hadn't gone to your chambers. It seemed like the most reasonable thing, but now, with the moon high in the sky, you weren't so sure. You were wandering the halls, not really paying attention, but voices from around the corner brought you out of your thoughts.
"Look in every room, if she isn't here you will wake every guard and go from building to building until she is found. If my wife is hurt in any way, it will be your heads on the line." You turned around quickly, walking as quietly but fast as you could. He wasn't going to stop until he found you, and even then you would probably be punished seeing as to the mood he is in.
You went to the first place that came to mind, the library. You went to a shelve and picked out a book that you had read hundreds of times before. You went to a couch and laid down, opening the book to around the middle and letting it rest on your stomach before closing your eyes. Perhaps if it looks like you just fell asleep by accident no one would get punished and no yelling would occur.
Not even five minutes later, you hear the door opened and clanking of armor. You relax your body, you need this to seem as real as it possibly can be. The sounds get closer to you, eventually stopping when you presume that they have spotted you.
"Get Lord Tywin and bring him here. He could get angrier if we touch her." You hear shuffling and more clanking, but not as loud as before so you assume that the one that spoke stayed behind. You aren't sure how long it is before the man gets back with Tywin, but you by the time he does you are actually half asleep.
"You didn't think to wake her, or perhaps even carry her," you vaguely hear him growl. "Leave before I change my mind." Once they have left you room, you hear Tywin sigh.
The book is gently lifted off of you, leaving that part of you cold. He begins to gently try to wake you, something that he has never done before. You know you have to fight it, fully asleep you would. You turn your head away from the noise and move your body like you are trying to get more comfortable, which in truth, you are. But he starts rubbing your head and saying your name softly.
"Y/n, you need to wake up now," he says, moving some hair off of your face. You softly mumble something that even the part of you that is awake can't make out. But you slowly open your eyes, blinking rapidly and rubbing sleep out of them.
"What time is it," you ask him.
"Very late in the evening. Come, lets get you to bed." He stands up and holds his hand out for you. You slowly take it and he pulls you up so you are standing, tucking your hand into the crook of his arm before you start to your chambers.
"I apologize for this, lord husband." He chuckles softly, and it surprises you how much you enjoy the sound.
"There is no need for apologies, my dear. However, the men may be upset with you tomorrow. I had them searching all of Casterly Rock for you."
"Why would you do that? I wouldn't just leave, and I would never be unfaithful." You hope that it sounds like a general question because you already knew he had men sent to look for you.
"When my wife isn't in the chambers and it gets to be very late, I have to worry. It is a husbands job to worry."
"But why were you worried? You get back late and I don't worry. I know you always come back." This had to be one of the longest conversations the two of you have had in private, ever.
"Yes, but that is because it is normal. You not being in our chambers was somewhat alarming since you are always there when I get there. But when it got late and you still were not there, that is when I began to worry."
"Are you sure it wasn't just that you wanted to try to make an heir? You usually like to around this time."
"It could be possible that that had something to do with it in the beginning, yes. But then it got so late that it seemed strange for anyone to be out and about and that is when I really worried for your safety." You looked up at him, seeing genuine concern written on his face. You pull him to stop which makes him look at you.
"You don't need to worry about my safety all the time. My father did train me to defend myself, I'm not helpless." He brings a hand to your face and gently rests it on your cheek.
"It's my job. Now lets get you to a real bed." As he begins to lead you back to your chambers, you can't help but feel that perhaps this marriage won't be as terrible as it has been so far. Maybe, just maybe, Tywin Lannister is beginning to care for you, and you for him.
