Chapter 13

               Ezra Jones

After school I tagged along with Betty and Jughead as they headed to the register. It was uncomprehendingly strange for me,my brother and sister are dating first but it's okay because they aren't related. Gross.

Because of that I decided I'd wait for them outside. I look down at my phone to check the time,my lock screen is still a picture of Jordan and I,him holding me bridal style as I hold out a Pops bag. I sigh locking the phone,I really need to change that.

"Ezra! Long time no see eh?"

I slowly turn around,Marcus fucking Connor is standing there fiddling with a switchblade.

"Shouldn't you be off with your head up Malachais ass?" I roll my eyes not really wanting to see any of the Connor boys right now.

"You've gotten a lot snappier since last time,prettier too" he steps closer. Blade getting dangerously close.

I raise my hand to push him away when he swipes the blade across my hand,making me shout multiple expletives at him.

Betty and Jughead have come out by now. "What the hell did you do!" Jug yells looking at my bloody hand and turning to Marcus "I swear to God I'm going to kill you"

He's as intimidating as a butterfly.

Marcus scoffs "Oh really. I'm so scared"

"Leave,now!" Betty chimes in "Or I'll be sure that in tomorrow's paper the headline is 'Scumbag Ghoulie Attacks Teenage Girl'." Her expression is dark and her voice serious.

"You wouldn't dare" Marcus looks half anxious,if that makes sense. Probably not.

"Try me"

Without another word he turns around and bolts down the street. We go back inside and Betty takes out a first aid kit. She cleans up my hand and wraps a bandage around it. She smiles at me putting the first aid kit away.

Archie,Jughead,Betty,Toni,unfortunately Veronica and I were sitting in a booth in Pops as I explained everything that had happened. 

"Damn Ez,have you talked to Sweet Pea about it?" Toni said leaning her head on my shoulder.

"Nope" I say popping the p "And none of you are to,got it?" I point at them with my good hand.

The bell above the door rings and I look up,Fangs,Sweet Pea and India walk in. Sweet Pea and India laughing and joking with each other. I grit my teeth as they come over to our table.

"Hey guys,you know Indy right?" Sweet Pea nods at her smiling at her.

"Yeah,we're besties. Didn't you know?" I roll my eyes leaning back.

She mumbles something and he chuckles "be nice darlin'."

Darlin'. That was my name.

I quickly leave the booth shoving past him and I leave the shop,wiping my eyes as I walked.

I hoped with all my heart that he'd follow me,call after me,tell me he didn't mean it. But he didn't,instead I was yanked back by Toni.

I hug her quickly and she hugs me back,shushing me as I cried. "You know what,you need a girls night. Just me and you,no idiot boys." She smiles wiping my eyes.

The booth full of once chatty teenagers fell silent once Ezra had left. No one knew what to say.

"You're an ass,Pea" Toni spat following her best friend.

Fangs sighed and shook his head "she's not wrong" he mumbled earning a dirty look from Jordan.

India began to laugh "the hell? Bitch flipped her lid over nothing,she really is psycho"

"Shut the fuck up India! Jesus,just go. I should've never invited you in the first place" Jordan snapped at her.

She mumbled a 'whatever' before leaving.

"Should I go after-"

"No Sweet Pea,you shouldn't" Archie cut in,looking visibly annoyed "don't you think you've done enough,you and your dad. Don't act like you care now"

"What the fuck are you talking about Andrews?" Sweet Pea looked down at him confused.

"Oh you know,just that your dad cut her hand open earlier. No big deal. I don't see what she ever saw in you,you're a dick! And I'm sick of seeing my best friend crying over some idiot who doesn't even giver her a second glance anymore" Archie's voice rose higher and higher. "I'm leaving. I don't want E thinking I'm friends with someone like you"

The red haired boy exited the diner leaving his girlfriend sitting in the booth,an annoyed look across her face. The thought that Archie liked Ezra was driving her mad.

Sweet Pea shook his head "This is stupid,I'm going after her"
