Chapter 28

I woke up with Jordan's arm lazily wrapped around me, it was still dark outside and the alarm clock on the bedside table said four am.

As I slowly woke up I regained my senses, the sound of a baby crying making me raise an eyebrow.

"It's your turn" Jordan grumbled "I got him last time"

Confused, I pulled myself out of bed and stood up slowly. I made my way out of my bedroom.

Hold on, this isn't the trailer?

I followed the sound of the crying, finding myself in what appeared to be a nursery.

A wooden crib was against the wall, various toys, a changing table and other baby related things could be found inside the room.

As I walked closer to the crib, I could see what looked like a nameplate. Juggy with a grey crown alongside it.

I stared down at the crying baby in the crib, tufts of black hair sticking up at all angles, he had Jordan's eyes.

"It's hard, huh" Jordan mumbled, taking the baby and hugging him close "It's okay Jughead, we're here little guy"

"J-Jughead?" I breathed out, my mind racing.

Jordan furrowed his eyebrows but shrugged it off "Junior. When we, you know, lost Jughead we agreed that when you gave birth we'd pass the name on"

I stumbled slightly, gripping onto the crib behind me "Jughead...is dead?"

Once Jughead.Jr had fallen back asleep, Jordan placed him back into his crib carefully. He took my hands in his and sighed softly.

"Baby, it was months ago. Are you sure you don't want to go and talk to someone about it?"

I shook my head quickly "What happened? Where's dad, and Betty?"

Jordan shut his eyes for a second "He was the Serpent King, we all knew it'd happen but we never thought it would be so soon. Penny finally got what she wanted, she killed him. Your dad got it bad for a while, he started to drink again. But when this little guy was born, he turned it around. Betty, well Betty is going through it. She moved back in with your mom and joined some farm as a way to cope"

I felt as though I couldn't breathe. Jughead was dead, I moved in with Jordan, we had a baby and Betty joined the farm.

My head hurt as I sank to the ground, pulling my knees up to my chest. Jordan sat beside me, wrapping his arms around me.
