Chapter 31

Ezra Jones

"Read it out!" Jughead gushes, throwing the envelope with my SAT results inside it at me, our dad sat beside me.

"Student Ezra Madeline Jones, ew why'd they put my middle name in there, scored in the ninetieth percentile. What the fuck.." I trail off, not believing what was written on paper.

I was in the top percentile for the SATs and I could cry, honestly.

My dad snatches the letter from me, reading the rest out loud before he and Jughead tackled me into a hug on the couch.

"I've got to go tell Jordy!" I grab the paper, rushing out the door.

I near sprinted to Jordan's house, nearly dying a couple times.

I stopped dead when I saw Josie inside talking to him, and me being me I stood outside listening.

"I don't know if you've heard but, my mom is getting married to Kevin's dad and I wanted to know if you'd be my date to the wedding" Josie grinned, eyeing my boyfriend.

"Josie, I have a girlfriend, you sliding into my life whenever you're alone, I'm not built that way and maybe that makes me needy but, I told you we're done" Jordan shakes his head sitting back on his bed.

I grit my teeth pushing the door open "Well well, I hope I'm not interrupting anything. You know Sweet Pea, if you wanted to call it quits you could've let me know."

"Ezra, I didn't-"

"Josie I swear to God, you have ten seconds to leave before I tear your fucking head off." I cut her off, not even looking in her direction.

She leaves quickly, obviously not taking my threat lightly.

"Babe, it's not what-"

"Not what it looks like, yeah yeah I'm sure. I definitely didn't hear her ask you to be her date for a wedding or you admitting that you guys are a thing" I shrug, rolling my eyes "After everything with us I thought that we, a fucked up pair of teenagers, could make this work. But apparently not, what was it Sweet Pea, hmm?"

He swallows thickly "Ezra it was when we broke up, okay. And stop calling me that, you never called me that"

I scoff rolling my eyes "Then why does she still think you're a thing, huh. You know what," I pull his necklace from my neck and his ring from my finger "Take your necklace, your promise ring, all of it Sweet Pea, and give it to your girlfriend" I throw the jewellery at him before turning to leave "Oh and in case you were wondering why I came over, it was to tell you how I did but you seemed preoccupied"

I slam his trailer door behind me and take off in the opposite direction, back to my house.

"Great, school" I grumble to myself after getting their and grabbing my school things. Before leaving for school I look at myself in the mirror "You will not cry over him, not in school"

Needless to say I broke that promise to myself.

After missing the first couple classes, and announcements, I walked in at lunch and instantly marched towards the bathrooms.

I stormed past Choni talking about God knows what and parked myself in a toilet cubicle, slamming the door so hard the connecting cubicles shook.

"Ezra? What's going on?"

"Fuck off Toni!" I yell back, wiping my eyes furiously before either saw.

The door is pushed in on top of me and the dream duo Choni was standing in front of me. I scoff standing up, pushing past to look at myself in the mirror. Puffy, red eyes and tear stained cheeks.
