Two Steps Behind

We're having Babies!

Devin's POV:

It has been a few months after our wedding, the past few months, we have talked to one of the best doctors in the state of California, para sa plano naming magkaroon ng anak. Myrtle was ready, in fact the Doctor says, she's at her prime. Maganda talaga ang katawan ng misis ko, she's been working out when ever she had the time. She also maintains a balanced diet, she rarely eats carbs. Moderate lang din ito kung uminom at wala namang bisyo.

After 3 months of deciding how to get pregnant, we eventually decided to get a donor from the sperm bank and have our eggs fertilized via In Vitro Fertilization, we decided that we wanted both our eggs to be fertilized, siya ang magdadala ng twins namin. That was our plan.

After filling up a lot of forms, both legal and other stuff, rigorous counseling sessions, we were finally ready to go under the procedure. Today is the day. We drove down the clinic to undergo the procedure.

"Love, I'm excited to have babies na!" She exclaimed.

"Love, kinakabahan ako. Honestly." I replied to her as we sat at the waiting area.

"Love, we talked about this diba? I will be fine, I promise. Our kids will be fine." She smiled at me and kissed me on the lips.

"Love, I know you'll be fine. Pero hindi mo naman maalis sa akin, ang magworry."

"Haist! Love, wag ka ngang negatron! Stop overthinking love, everything will be alright." She smiled at me as she looked into my eyes.

Hinawi nya ang buhok ko, it was something she does to calm me, alam na alam nya talaga ang weakness ko. Maya-maya pa ay pinapangiti nya na ako by poking both my cheeks. When I finally smiled at how silly she was being she spoke.

"Yan, that's more like it. Ang gwapo mo kaya pag nakasmile ka." Kinikilig niyang sabi.

"Love, tigilan mo nga ako sa pambobola mo ha?"

"I married a rockstar, who's always serious. Tell me love, Emo ka ba?" She chuckled at me.

"I married a baby. Who loves to tease me for being an adult." I chuckled at her.

"You can't resist this charming baby." She says full of confidence.

"Wow! Ang hangin mo love."

"Do you want me to enumerate the times?" She raised an eyebrow at me.

"And she won." I said as I stole a kiss from her lips.

Alam kong tama siya at maraming beses na niyang napatunayan ito. I probably lost count of the times, I gave into her.

"Love, please stop overthinking ha?" She tells me once more.

I held her close to my body as I kissed the top of her head.

"I promise love." I softly whispered.

"Myrtle Peters - Lennon, you're up next. Please proceed to the room down that hallway." The nurse told her.

We stood up and walked down the hallway, this was our last step, all those months of preparing physically and mentally for our babies, countless injections and other medications done on her, today is the most nerve racking day. This is the day our fertilized eggs will be transferred to my wife's uterus. I held her hand as we walked.

Minsan, I am lost for words at how determined she is in bearing me children. I look at her and the love she has given me, naiisip kong ang lakas pala ng Misis ko, kasi sino ba naman ang gugustuhin na magka-anak ng kambal? Siya lang yata yun. Napatawa ako sa naisip ko.

"Ay yan siya oh! Tumatawa kahit walang nakakatawa. Totoo wubb, napano ka?" She looks at me as we took a step into the room.

"Wubb, may naalala lang ako. Natawa lang ako sa thoughts ko. I was thinking of how strong you are. Yung pagmamahal mo sakin ng wagas, then this. Carrying our twins. You're a very strong woman." I smiled at her.
