When it came time to head over to Luke's house, Silas had to decide what to do with his newfound pet. Whether to take her with him or to leave her at his house alone. She was still sleeping soundly on his bed where he had set her down a few hours before. He didn't want to leave her alone after just meeting her. Let alone to leave while she slept. So Silas came to the decision he should ask her opinion.
"Raisa? Raisaaa." He cooed gently shaking her sleeping form with his hand. The shapeshifter's glowing green eyes shot open and she sat up. "Do you need sssomething Master?" She asked immediately in his mind looking up to him. Silas nodded and rubbed her ears. "I'm going to a friend's house. Will you be okay with staying here?"
The cat's eyes widened slightly. "Masster is going sssomewhere?" Her voice gasped. "I sshould go with Masster." Silas sighed and pet her head, fully expecting her behavior. "Alright.. but how do I hide you without my friends seeing you?" He asked with worry. Rasia giggled in his head and shrank into a kitten the size of his fist. "I can go in your hood Masster. I am very good at hiding."
Silas smiled and picked up the tiny kitten and sighed. "I'll be honest. You're just adorable. There's no other way to put it." The now much smaller Raisa purred as he stuck her in his hood. He felt her move around before settling down. "Comfy back there?" He asked raising an eyebrow. "Quite." She replied pleasantly in his mind. "Well then here we go." Silas said and the two headed out to Luke's house.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When Silas opened the door to his friend's house he whispered quietly to Raisa. "If anything happens. Just act like a normal cat." Raisa only purred quietly in response. Silas took that as an okay and stepped into the all too familiar house of Luke. "Hey Luke!" He called slipping his shoes off to avoid tracking snow into the house and set them down by the door.
"Oh hey Si. Glad you made it. I was getting worried." Luke greeted peeking his head out of the living room into the hallway. "But not near as worried as uh.." He motioned behind him with his head. Silas frowned slightly and walked into the living room, giving Luke a curious look. "What do you mean?" He asked then stopped himself, spotting Lilly sitting on the couch. Her honey-gold hair left down below her shoulders.
Lilly turned as she heard him come in and smiled warmly with genuine relief in her eyes. "Silas! You made it." She said getting up and walking over to him. Silas felt his heart beat faster as she came within a foot of him. "Massster your heart rate ssseems to be increassing." Raisa said in his head. "Are you alright?" Silas opened his mouth to reply and stopped himself. "Crap, I can't say anything back to the little furball." He thought panicked.
"I actually can sstill hear you. Pleasse don't call me that." Raisa replied, her annoyance entering his head. Silas frowned. You mean you can hear my thoughts? He said to her in his mind. The shape in his hood shifted slightly. "Well of courssse I can ssilly angel. You're my masster after all." Raisa replied coyly. Silas sighed. "Well isn't this just perfect?" He thought to himself not meaning for it to be sent to her.. "It iss isssn't it?" Raisa said cheerfully.
Lilly frowned at him and waved her hand in front of his face. "Hello. Earth to Silas? Are you even listening to me?" She pouted slightly and folded her arms. Silas blinked and looked at her, his eyes unfocused. "Wait what?" He asked confused. Luke laughed behind him and patted his back."Don't worry about him Lil he's been doing that alot lately. Poor guy has this rare disease called lov-" Silas elbowed him in the gut to cut him off. "Struckous." Luke gasped out, dramatically collapsing to the floorboards. Lilly blinked and looked at the two of them and frowned. "You guys are acting strange... well stranger than normal that is." Her brows knitted together. "What are you guys hiding from me?"
Luke started making kissing noises on the ground earning him a kick to the ribs from Silas. "Cut it out." Silas muttered down to him grumpily. "Jerkwad." Was all Luke coughed out in reply. Lilly laughed at the brief moment seeming to forget what she had asked. Silas sighed with relief and mentally cursed Luke for being so careless. "Masster is getting upssset. Should I kill them now?" Raisa asked.
No no they're my friends. Just stay in my hood like you promised. He replied mentally. "Anyways are we going to work on this science project or not?" Silas asked to get the night started. Lilly's eyes brightened. "Oh yeah. Luke said that he got some liquid nitrogen for us to try out." She said. Silas blinked and looked at his friend with wide eyes. "How'd you manage to get a hold of that?"
Luke groaned as he got up off the floor. "Really man don't ask. Just be happy I got it." He seemed to be embarrassed by how he had gotten it. Silas shrugged. "Sure doesn't bother me. Let's get started." Luke waved for them to follow before heading down to the basement. Silas and Lilly followed at his heels. "So what are you guys hiding from me?" Lilly whispered in his ear. Silas looked at his feet as they waited for Luke to open the door.
"Umm.. nothing much just uh...you know guy stuff. It's stupid really." Silas replied vaguely as he could manage. Lilly frowned slightly and looked over to Luke who was opening the door. "Fine if you don't want to tell me then I'll just ask Luke. Maybe he'll tell me the truth." Silas opened his mouth but couldn't think of anything to say. "Oh I like her." Raisa interjected mentally. "She's feisty!" Silas shook his head. "Don't say that Lilly it's not what it sounds like. It really isn't a big deal."
Lilly turned back to him with her chocolate brown eyes looking directly into his. "If it isn't a big deal then why won't you tell me?" She asked him. Silas stared at her and bit his lip. I should tell her.. Luke cleared his throat beside them and the two looked at him in surprise. "If you guys don't mind. I'd like to freeze random stuff with dangerous substances. Cause it sounds like fun. That cool with you guys?" He asked glancing at one, then the other.
"Uhh yeah that sounds perfect." Silas said awkwardly, rubbing his neck with a free hand. Lilly frowned at him and strolled past Luke into the basement without a word. Luke whistled and eyed Silas. "You're really not that good at this huh?" Silas shook his head and walked over to him. "No. But dude you're really not making this any easier." He murmured quietly.Luke grinned wickedly and rubbed his hands together. "Well that's what I'm here for. I am the love master after all. Leave it to me and you two will be together within a week." Silas rolled his eyes, shook his head, then walked past him shutting the basement door and locking it behind him. "Well Mr. Love master if making things difficult is fun for you then this must be a riot." He chuckled hearing muffled knocks and yells from Luke from the other side of the door.
"Aww come on Si I'll leave you alone man! Let me in! Seriously I swear!" Luke shouted loud enough for him to make out. Silas unlocked the door and opened it with a smug smile. "Deal." He said. Luke grumbled something inaudible and brushed past him. Silas shut the door and followed him to where Lilly stood waiting with her arms folded tightly across her chest. There was a table set up with a tank of some sort beside it.
"So you guys ready to try some stuff out? Or do you two need some time alone?" She asked with a sly smile. Silas glanced at Luke. "Yeah. Are we ready?" He asked incredulously. Luke grumbled a moment more and nodded. "Fine whatever jerks.." He moved up to the table and passed them some gloves. "Here put these on. It's.. kind of important." He said. "Get any of this stuff on you and well..bad things happen."
Silas slipped his gloves on, wondering if they would really help if they spilled any of the nitrogen on them. He shot Lilly a nervous glance who didn't seem so sure herself. Luke unscrewed the lid on the tank. "Okay so what are we going to try out first?" He asked setting the cap aside. Lilly shrugged putting Silas on the spot to answer. "Umm let's try the kiwi mixture that we made the other day." He suggested. "Sure why not." Luke replied content with the answer.
I wonder what it's going to taste like. What do you think? Silas thought mentally. But unlike before, Raisa didn't reply. Hey Raisa you asleep back there? Silas called in his mind. But still there was no reply, no presence in his mind. She hadn't said anything for awhile he realized now that he thought about it. Silas frowned not liking the absence and adjusted his hood causally feeling around for his new pet.
His eyes widened and he let his hands drop, having felt nothing in his hood at all. The small shapeshifted cat was gone. "Silas are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost." Lilly asked touching his arm. Her eyes filled with concern. "Yeah man what's wrong? If you're nervous about this stuff I can handle it if you want." Luke offered, frowning at him. Silas shook his head slightly. "No it's okay I'm good." He replied trying to sound calm. "But you're shaking.." Lilly murmured feeling his hand with her own.
Silas pulled away panicking slightly as he started to wonder where Raisa might have run off to, a sudden sense of alarm raced through him that didn't feel like his own. "I'll be right back." He announced quickly and ran to the door. "Wait Si are you sick? Dude don't use my toilet! Use a trash bag alright?" Luke called after him. "Is he okay?" Lilly asked Luke nervously. Silas closed the basement door behind him silencing any form of a reply from Luke. He ran through the house as fast as he could manage to the front door. Raisa where are you? Silas yelled mentally. He grabbed the doorknob and stopped to turn it but hesitated as he heard her familiar voice enter his mind. "Don't come outssside Massster. They have come for you."
